Just got off the phone to mattycollector.com and it was "interesting".
For all those saying that Matty would offer cancellations to anyone who requested them, what they don't mention is how much you need to stand your ground and even then it's not guaranteed.
The first guy I spoke to after pointing out the legalities of the situation; put me onto his supervisor who then tried to force their "no cancelations of orders for any reason" policy on me. After standing my grounds and in no uncertin terms pointing out the illegality of this clause under the circumstances (contract law cannot overide criminal law), citing CA law 17500 and FTC statute 238 and threatening them with a formal complaint to the FTC if they did not comply; I was put on hold. A couple of days minutes later when the supervisor resumed the call, she told me the matter was being forwarded to a senior accounts team to cancel the preorder.
However considering how incompetent Matty's customer service team is; I'm not holding my breath.
