I've been meaning to post this bit, but I've been super busy. While I was breaking down a Recon to convert into the rifle, I stumbled upon the proper greeblie for the front of the non-taylor version:
It is located in the bottom of the handgrip inside the recon.
I'm still a little stumped as to where to find the grip material...........
I used Evergreen sheet styrene. #4528 "Metal Siding"

I used a little artistic license here and there, but I used most of your tutorial as the basis for my build. Thanks for all of the great tips - I don't think I could have figured it all out on my own! :lol
What did you use for the two narrow, vertical pieces that are below the shroud bolts.
It's just styrene strips. Don't ask what size - I had it laying around.
