Finished up the forearms. The elbows aren't pictured because they are still curing after I epoxy(ed) them.

Some edges are darker. What i did was i join all the seams then reinforced them. After that i went back over any seams with excess glue with my glue gun tip and smoothed them over. My though is when I spray the parts with plasti dip none of the glue gun beads will show, thus creating smooth lines (in theory).

That actually works for some strange reason.

It goes well with my Magneto-Man.

Oh the Iron-y lol

The master of metal meets master of tech

I always wanted to see an Iron Man/ War Machine-esque take on the Punisher

Thanks, your Iron Monger looks cool too. I bet that was a fun and intense build.

Re: Mark VI Arc Reactor/Mark VI Build- Forearms Done(Pic Heavy)

Ok so I decided to do the shins next. Since everyone says these are the hardest part (and I agree), I thought I might as well get them done and over with so that the rest is down hill from there.

I only did one so far and will do the right one after a much need break. (these are a pain in the a** to put together)

Tried my best and here's what I got.

that shin looks good man, dont worry too much about making em perfect. when i build something I usually add a little something extra, something that makes it "mine" artistic license I guess

Yeah Jowe's right. I never follow the templates exactly or I'd go nuts.
I take short cuts because following it exactly, isn't always the most realistic approach for foam.

The shin is looking awesome though. :thumbsup

Re: Mark VI Arc Reactor/Mark VI Build- Left Shin Done(Pic Heavy)

Again wonderful work, beautiful work on the shins!!!
Almost there now!

Re: Mark VI Arc Reactor/Mark VI Build- Left Shin Done(Pic Heavy)

I have not been working on my build lately (will start again tomorrow), but I did a small paint test on scraps. I am hoping to find a combination of products to allow the paint more flexibility to prevent cracking.

Just one test so far which was shoe goo over the foam followed by paint.
(paint used is left over Krylon Cherry Red from my Red Hood Helm)

As you can see the paint was very flexible and coated pretty well. I did about 3 coats. No matter how much I flexed the foam it did not crack. However, I doubt that this will work for an enamel paint such as the Cherry Red Metallic everyone uses. I will buy some to test anyways.

Next test will be with:
- PVA glue
- Plasti dip
- Plastic primers
- Modge Podge
- Vinyl spray paint

I have high hopes for the vinyl spray paint, as I have used it for automotive purposes and it is very flexible and does not easily rub off. However, there are not many color variations for this type of paint.
