You have two options mate !

    1. You can use the acrylic cover this way :

    2. On eBay.com , you search "acrylic stand" and you will find what you want !

thank you! i am actually using option 1 right now, but its a waste to use the cover as a stand/riser.. LOL

i actually have access to a acrylic laser cutter and bender i may just do it myself. Just wanted to check whether this idea is not ugly/insane..

    cheers

I think my brain just melted. For impressive displays you definitely need the space.

    And no small children.

There are some really incredible collections here - many of which inspired me to step it up on my own room over the past couple of years. Lighting is everything - still working on that...

My mom is a 50's Movie Monster Freak! Her most prized possession so far is a Bela Lugosi-as-Dracula portrait I did for her in Xmas 2006. She would die if she saw that collection^!

It is amazing how lighting can make such a difference!!

I'm also very fond of the display cases and shelves that take into consideration what they are displaying so that they match the same style of the prop - like the wood with gilded adornments for LOTR props. Or the sleek glass for Star Wars.

The less or more displays really catch my eye more as well - it's easier to appreciate what is there. Though I can understand if someone has so much stuff that it seems a waste to hide any of it, but a wall of shoulder to shoulder boxes of action figures isn't as powerful a display...

What I've been working towards for my display of my Lost props is an entire entertainment room with an island theme.

Here's what we have so far, still have yet to put down the laminate wood floors.

I'm open to suggestions - we haven't decided on the rest of the furniture or what will go on the walls... One thing I'd really like to get is a painting or relief sculpture of a "Black Rock" period ship.

Here's a closer look at the display case:

I have some Lord of the Rings and Star Wars props that may or may not go on display in other rooms of the house... unless I can figure out how to make them make sense in here.
