Mr. Freeze - First costume!

I'll have to follow the advice of others and rig up two small fans to draw air in and vent it out. New pictures on their way later tonight

I promised new pictures and here they are

I found the perfect tank in the form of an old lawn care hand pump tank, it's about 2 feet high. Thinking about running light wire through that larger clear hose leading to the gun.

Found these old snow boots that look pretty good, the gray part especially looks like part of a cryo-suit.

My helmet came today, so here's my ugly mug inside it. Pretty good height and enough room to angle my head around.

Now more questions, I've never done Pepakura before and quite frankly it's confusing, especially since I'm doing this with foam which the files aren't supposed to be used for. So for now I'm just printing the pages of a marine chest I found and taping them together to see how they will fit on the suit. Then I'll take portions of the paper templates off and trace them onto foam to cut out. Is this plan going to work or am I doomed to failure?

This looks like its coming along great! I actually found this thread (and RPF) while researching to build my own Mr. Freeze costume for halloween. I have to say, your thread and all the advice everyone has pitched in has been the single most helpful part of my costume planning. So a resounding thank you to everyone involved here.

I have to ask, how are you planning to build the chest piece? I have been looking into a foam build similar to the techniques used by EvilFX here: http://www.therpf.com/f24/mass-effect-2-n7-armor-builds-89795/

Cheers.

This is a great build thread! I built a Mr. Freeze Costume based on the Secret Origins figure. Almost every single part of my costume was fashioned from found items.

Here is how mine turned out:

(These were taken at Kansas City Planet Comicon.)

I'm sorry that I've neglected this thread for so long, but I want to let everyone know that the costume is done and tonight is the first time I will be wearing it with all makeup. I have to say it has diverged somewhat from what has been shown but I think it looks good. Until I get some proper pictures of me in it with makeup, here's a test run of I did of it a couple weeks ago without.

Looks really good. It's not just NE Ohio but right here across the border in PA it's kind of dying out too as a holiday, everyone goes to the cities or now places have indoor trick or treating. Lots of bars with costume contests though.
