Spartan Helmet: How can I make the hair on

Hi guys...

I want to build a Spartan Helmet, like this

anyone knows how can I make the hair on helmet to get this way??

From what I've seen of replica Greek & Roman crested helmets they pretty much universally use horse hair in the crests. As for how they make the crests themselves I really don't know but I think you could probably do the broom brush method and gather the horse hair into clumps that are secured at the bottom with wire, glue, or even those little corsage ampules; then you'd stick each of these little clumps close together into a base, of wood (this is the classical/traditional method) or to save weight you could use styrofoam or the green foam used for fake flower displays, with holes in them. Time consuming but probably pretty close to how they did back in the day, so to speak, and if the clumps are close enough it should look pretty good and you shouldn't be able to tell that they're just a bunch of little bundles stuck together.
