Here is a new project.
1955 Hill Valley Welcome Sign.
Marty walks past this sign as he stumbles around in 1955.
I re-drew every logo from scratch, best I could, returned them to 1955 versions. Most of the ones out there are different now. So it took a little research.
It's going to be Laser cut parts with printed decals for the logos. I've got a new vendor with a print on vinyl very durable solution.
It's going to be 1/6" scale which makes it about 15"x16"x4".
This is my concept illustration.
*************Build Nearly Done*****************
Well here we go, all assembled. Needs a few adjustments, but they always do.
First a Screen Grab.
Now mine. Some pics with and without flash.
The top has what's called "channel" letters (I worked in the sign industry for 17 years). Since that would be nearly impossible at this scale. I did two layers of laser cut acrylic for contrast.
I scaled the acrylic strip to simulated 2x4s which of course are not 2x4. But still.....
It even has Mayor "Red" on the back. Did you know he was there?
Enjoy.
