ASHPD (Portal Gun) pepakura model

Any updates on this, Bevbor?

Sorry, guys, I've just got new job and very busy there these days.

Today I suddenly managed to make a little progress - to cut out the front shell =)

Tomorrow I'll glue it together.

I just finished my companion cube pepakura model. Now i had some practice.
Those round shapes of the portal gun look nice! should be much easier than cutting hundreds of triangles.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi,

would you be able to let me know how you exported the solidworks file to pepakura? is there some sort of tutorial i can go to? I know how to use solidworks by the way (mechanical engineer student :) )

Hi,

it's easy as a cake.

First, save your SolidWorks part as VRML file (.WRL) (DON'T FORGET to set in save options VRML'97 version of export, it's essential!)
Second, open your .WRL file in free program MeshLab and export mesh as .OBJ

Third, open this .OBJ in Pepakura Designer.

That's all.
Cheers

Oh totally awesome! Thanks for the file! You are totally the best. Isn't there a button somewhere to increase your rep? Seriously. I'm super grateful.

Oh, thanks =)

Front shell is done now, and I'm going to buy some resin.
The rest of parts will be not so interesting, they're much less complicated =)
