John Lennon Glasses Question

I wasnt sure which Topic area this was best related too so i guessed Entertainment :$

Ive been looking for these glasses worn by John Lennon, but i cant seem to find a specific make, i found tonnes on ebay but they are classed as a fancy dress item

does anyone know if they were a specific type, i know he had prescription lens but i just want to know if the frames would have been readily available in that era, off the shelf so to speak.

oh just to add this i forgot to ask Can anyone id the chain around his neck

I can't help you. But I did want to say I'm curious as to why I haven't seen anyone I.D. these glasses before... I mean, talk about FAMOUS! (At least in the round specs world) So I'm glad you're asking the question. Best of luck.
