After my comment #10443 and #10444, I present you from now on three of my reconstructions of paintings :

Termeritus Shanks :

Based on a portrait of young kings James I of England, the only one of the picture to
post in the Grand staircase, being poor quality, I have was responsible for the improved.

Podric Piles, Tobias Stump, Muldoon Cragg & Uric Oapley :

With can of resources for picture, I improvised with can that I had, I have to begin by melting the images of three characters to obtain one person with a strong visual sense incomplete, me is to add there the title below has left, has to leave a photo taken in studios tour. To fill the parts missing, I have took photos of average quality to add the bottom. I improved the depiction with some retouch, I also restored Percival Pratt's portrait which we perceive on the wall.

In the end I am amply satisfied, the final depiction still moves closer to us one can more universe of harry and the tower of Gryffondor.

Gilderoy Lockhart Self-portrait :

It is or the work has was the most tough, me had no references for this portrait of Lockhart, put apartment frames of movie, a photoshot and an image of the painting to post in The Studios Tour London. In the end I am to arrive there, the depiction is not completed, but it is not bad at all.

And to finish three recent discovery, they are simply three of the former
headmaster of Hofwarts, sleeping peacefully in their portrait to post in the Dumbledore office.

Worked on the various portraits to post in Hogwarts, is for me the thing which dips back us most into Harry's universe !

Thank you Decat, I have been so inspired by everything that you've posted. I'm planning a Ministry of Magic takeover soon and the Umbridge kitten plates will be put to good use! Keep up the great work!

Okay everyone, I wanted to share a few photos of my bottle collection, because I sort of need help of what kind of potions-labels I should put on them.
What do you guys think? If you can come up with any ideas, I'd be grateful! :D

i am gonna ask you all a question; does anyone know approx. sizes of hogwarts textbooks?

did anyone have chance to measure from the props for example in wizarding world etc.?

thank you very much

When I have been to the Warner Brother's Studio Tours it hasn't been possible to measure the books because they are in a glass cabinet. You can make some educated guesses with some of the books, an example being that 1000 magical herbs and fungi looks like it is only about 4x5 inches. Here are some photos I took of the books that were on display.

Hey mansfield thank you so much for your reply and pictures. They will be very helpful for measurement. It is great to see photos from this exhibition, wish i had a chance to visit there also :(

Nowadays i work on Magical Hieroglyphs and Logograms book cover

Magical Hieroglyphs and Logograms - Harry Potter Wiki

It is rather hard book. i tried to make its cover for foil:

H?zl? Resim yükle, internette payla? | resim upload | bedava resim

It doesnt look that good so i shared with ecl since he is a photosop master :) maybe he can do something better. I will now work on my version. It looks very hard and i dont know how will it look like but as soon as i am done, i am gonna share here :)

Hey lynx,

you are very welcome, I am glad to help where I can. I got the opportunity to meet MinaLima at a lecture they were hosting and they explained that Magical Hieroglyphs and Logograms was their most ambitious book to create. The front and back covers where made with thin plate aluminium that was precisely cut to create the look you see in the photos. I wish you all the luck with your continuing project :)

Hey thank you for the informations. If you have other photos and informations i would love you to share them so much. They are so useful sources to creat these books. Thanks for your help again.

This plate aluminium information shows that i am on the right way hehe :) i will make it from silver foil paper so it will almost look like that. But paper should be cut out carefully which will drive me crazy i am sure :))

By the way do you have an estimated opinion about size of this book? I plan to make it approx. 15*20 cm, would it be close to the real sizes?

Greetings

lynx0099, if you have access to a silhouette paper cutter, you can create a file that the machine will cut out for you, then you just have to carefully punch out the pieces that you do not want to be foiled. I did something similar to create a gold foil crest for my Hogwarts chest. I had the machine cut out the design on double sided sticker paper, then I punched out the inside pieces. I carefully peeled the backing off the wrong side of the design and placed it on the trunk. Then I peeled the "backing" off of the front and laid gold foil (I used Ibfoil brand, but there are other options that would work) on top of the sticker and pressed it down. When I lifted the foil sheet, it stuck to the sticker paper much better than it ever has stuck when I run it through a laser printer like it was designed for.

It is very cool that MinaLima used thin plate aluminum to create theirs. I wonder if they had it laser cut.

I have found an alternate Dumbledore Portrait within the "Tours from the Set" Web Video of Dumbledore's Office. The portrait is situated within an alcove not seen in the movie. So, this apparently is where a current headmaster gives its portrait its 'life':

Does there exist a bigger version of this picture?
