Godzilla (2014)

There is a building glimpsed from the jumper's perspective and apparently it is an actual building in SF.
Based on that observation..........

"People in other discussion forums have identified the building that is between Godzilla and the point of view jumper. Their estimates put Godzilla somewhere around 760 - 780 feet tall."

How does that compare to a Kaiju, the monster from Cloverfield, or even the Kraken from Clash of the Titans.

Showa era G was 50m tall and Heisei era was 100m tall. Both charts are accurate, assuming the first is using feet as the height increment. Each chart uses a different version of Godzilla, though the second seems to be using a Showa silhouette to represent Heisei G.

The building's easy enough to find on Google Earth, and it does appear to be one of the tallest buildings in SF. But I can't for the life of me find out what it's called, which makes it hard to find the specs on it.

Say what?

Needs to be updated with the new info that shows him even bigger but it gives a good idea to compare over the years...

Showa and Heisei eras refer to the Emperors of Japan. The Showa era, as it relates to Godzilla films, was 1954-1975 and the Heisei era was 1984-1995. The size of Godzilla increased as the buildings in Tokyo got taller. As far as canon goes the Godzilla of the Heisei era is a different monster than the goofier one from the Showa era, but is still related to the one from the 1954 film.

I think making Godzilla 700 ft tall in the new movie makes sense. It might look silly if the buildings are significantly bigger than Godzilla.

The Giant Claw is bigger than the UN building (509 ft) so it could fight this new godzilla. :p
