My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival : The Godfather

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - Stargate

I have an equal-sized mausoleum, and I will be buried in a Stargate Sarcophagus replica in the middle of it, surrounded by my props :lol

You, sir, are a greedy, greedy monkey. BUT, at least you have the Egyptian thing going for you. *wags a finger disapprovingly* Some archaeologist is going to have a field day with you in another five centuries.

...Side note, you've got Bond gear. You know a place I can find one of those Union Jack bulldog figs from Skyfall? I want one of those so bad.

Sorry, no idea :(

First up, the Stargate Universe Gate, which, together with the Legends SG1 and the Diamond SGA gates, now completes the trio :D

Next, from "The Hunger Games", the Mockingjay pin that Kantniss Everdeen was given at the flea market at the start of the movie and which is seen several times therafter.

Finally, from Star Trek DS9, I had the "Star of Kahless". I'll repeat the posts first.

When Gowron goes to DS9 to take over the Klingon forces in the fight against the Dominion, he inducts Martok into the Order of Kahless.

In a ceremony of (gasp) bloodletting and bloodwine, Martok is inducted through the granting of the Star of Kahless.

The Chain is my addition though. I spent a whole day looking for a half-inch thick wheat chain (what the original had).

Nada.

I ended up with a 2-foot chain from my friendly ironmonger and a can of gold spray.

Looks Klingon to me :lol

And after almost 3 years :lol, here it is again, upgraded with correct chain :cool

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - The Lost Room

Welcome to the Sunshine Motel :D

mot-981x562.jpg

From our member here Jintosh , the following goodies :)

First up, the Bus Ticket.

(Been whacking it on the cat's head but he hasn't been whisked away yet :lol)

Yucca Transit Lines Ticket # 11560. When the Bus Ticket is touched to a person's forehead, that person is transported to U.S. Route 66 outside Gallup, New Mexico the town where the Sunshine Motel is found. The town is referred to as the "center of the universe," presumably the nexus for the objects since it is their origin point. Those transported fall from the sky and land face first at just enough speed for the impact to be disorienting but not harmful. The Bus Ticket's origin is Willowbrook, Arizona, where Eddie McCleister presumably lived with his wife before the Event. A portion of the Bus Ticket was duct taped to keep it from affecting the user.

lrbt2-948x303.jpg

The Pen.

The ballpoint tip instantly microwaves any subject upon contact. This results in severe trauma and often death in living subjects. Additionally, the pen has been known to launch its victims away with the force of a cannon. This microwave burst can also be used to short circuit electronics.

pensg-980x562.jpg

lrkcomba-977x616.jpg

And finally, the key of course :D

Niessen 612a key with attached key fob stamped with Sunshine Motel logo and "Room 10," color brown. Opens any hinged door with a pin tumbler lock and turns it into a portal to the Lost Room. From the room, the user can exit to any location of their choosing provided that location has a door of similar construction. The door doesn't need to be of the same proportions as the door in the Room, as much smaller doors are used at two different points. The user must also have a clear picture of the door they wish to go to or else the room will pick a door at random. It's one of the seven Objects used in the "Conroy experiment" to open a "tear in reality."

keysg-979x560.jpg

I take the liberty of quoting Jintosh :) :

Jintosh said:
I started this project by reproducing the key tag. I had some help with the font and logo and uploaded the image to a company to reproduce the tag. I searched the net and the closest I found was the exact tag, but they only printed in gold not yellow. I went with the gold.

The key was more difficult. The top portion is a vintage 1950's - 1960's Niessen Brothers 612A key. They are not in business anymore. I was able to obtain a Niessen 611R key.

The 611 key had the right top, but the wrong grooves. I blocked out the grooves and had it reproduced in metal. I stamped it with the "612A" and cut new grooves in the key. I then got the bottom half of the key which turned out to be a modern Schlage key. I cut the notches in the Schlage key and attached it to the Niessen key. I then had it cast in metal to finish the reproduction.

lrk3-972x555.jpg

And temporarily here for the customary 'group hug' pic :D

Embarrassingly, I seem to have forgot to punch the "3" on the ticket.

(There's some customers that I wish I could zap at work......)

:p

Also, about the pen, a group discussion determined by watching the pen in action that the more you "click" it, (it's retractable) the more powerful the effect will be when you touch the tip to the target.

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrival - Beauty & the Beast (Small Project)

Please read this introduction so that you won't go ..... "WTF :confused" ..... later :lol

The Mrs. has this tomato patch in the garden, which she planted herself. They are currently huge bushes. It seems to be my fate every time I water them, to knock off a flower or two of theirs. Always accidental, I swear :lol. The flowers are what eventually will become the tomatoes of course, so each time it happens, because she knows exactly where each and every one is flowering, I get very naughty words from her, cursing all my ancestors going back to Adam & Eve :lol

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some weeks ago I told you that I was working on a small project, that serves 2 purposes : a gift for the Mrs ..... and its a prop :lol

The time has come. Today is our anniversary, and tomorrow is the Mrs' birthday. It is my 'tradition' to give her a gift tonight :D

In the 1987-1990 version of the series Beauty & the Beast (Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman), Vincent goes deep down into the caverns to get a crystal to give to Catherine as a gift for it being a year since they had first met.

Vincent gives the crystal to "Mouse" to make a pendant of it, which he does and hangs it on a very delicate silver chain made of oval links. Catherine wears this throughout most of the series thereafter.

I also recall watery eyes from the Mrs. when we were watching this part :lol

bbsg1-982x632.jpg

bbsg2-976x666.jpg

bbsg3-973x623.jpg

I thought about how to get that look of the clasp part right, a sort of wrap around the crystal and with a border / bump / ledge at the top and bottom parts, and came up with this.

A roll of copper sheet, a roll of copper wire, and a crystal of course.

bbbb1-600x450.jpg

I wrapped a piece of copper sheet around the crystal in order to pre-mark the crystal's contours exactly.

bbbb2-600x450.jpg

Cut the sheet to size, and cut two strips of the wire.

bbbb3-600x450.jpg

I folded the copper sheet over the wire and pushed the underside of the sheet flush against the wire with a tiny piece of smooth plastic, so that the sheet would take the wire's shape.

bbbb4-600x450.jpg

Did the same with the second wire, turned the whole thing over, and again shaped the wire flush to the sheet, which I then sealed into place.

bbbb6-600x450.jpg

Cut the bottom wire extra bits.

bbbb7-600x450.jpg

Placed it back onto the crystal, and twisted the top uncut strands of wire together for the loop.

bbbb8-600x450.jpg

To get this

bbbb9-600x450.jpg

Fixed it to the crystal, bent the loop, and sealed it shut with a small piece of copper sheet.

bbbb10-600x450.jpg

That one is mine because its "screen-accurate" :cool

I made another one for the Mrs of course :lol.

I kept hers within the same concept, but on the artsy side, which I know she will like better :)

Rather more "straightforward", as it consists of wrapped copper wire, which I sealed off with a small sheet of copper like I did mine.

bbbb12-600x450.jpg

However, on both of them, the copper was way too new and shiny, so I gave them a few coats with "exhaust" paint.

bbbb11-600x450.jpg

And then sealed them both with matt varnish.

bbbb13-600x450.jpg

Here are both of them ready, each hung on a silver chain :)

A 'reminder' of the screencap of mine

bbsg3-973x623.jpg

And the replica

bbp2-937x635.jpg

bbp3-931x631.jpg

bbp4-946x642.jpg

And the Mrs' one.

I will put this on her pillow later on, to find when she gets home :D

bbpr1-920x666.jpg

bbpr2-872x694.jpg

..... together with this birthday 'card' I made

Now, remember that tomato story :lol

..... and ignore the "K" :lol

I erased the PS on the pic ....... because its too personal :ninja

Can't 'let' Germany win the World Cup as many times as Italy (3 vs 4).

Argentina have won it less (2) , so rooting for Argentina tonight.

Sorry :lol

Re: My Prop Replica Collection - New Arrivals - Warehouse 13 : Display & Mini Proje

Having recently finished watching Warehouse 13, I thought I'd choose a few replicas that to me represented this fantastic series :)

.......... with a tiny twist or two of my own :lol

First up, the Phoenix Artifact

phoenixSG2-978x415.jpg

phoenixSG1-975x579.jpg

phoenix1-728x698.jpg

phoenix2-882x647.jpg

phoenix3-878x710.jpg

The gloves of course.

glovesSG-977x594.jpg

... on which the Phoenix rests

gloves-975x623.jpg

In the episode "Insatiable", the Jar Artifact is located in a fast food truck, Manny's Taco Truck.

From the recent original props auctions, somebody picked up a bunch of production used double-sided menus that appear several times throughout the episode, so I got me one, which came with a copy of this person's original COA.

Nice to have a direct 'link' to the series :D

tacoSG1-969x521.jpg

tacoSG2-966x538.jpg

tacoSG3-881x644.jpg

Production used one

taco1-789x654.jpg

Which of course I framed :lol

tacofr-532x743.jpg

I can't afford the QMX sold-out version, and I am hopeless at electronics :lol, so I got me one of these.

A tad SP than SA (Steam Punk / Screen Accurate :lol), yet there is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that when I look it, I immediately think "Warehouse 13 ! Farnsworth ! Artie !" :D

farn1-877x664.jpg

farn2-876x655.jpg

farn3-867x616.jpg

farn4-866x656.jpg

The middle switch lights up the 'screen' when pushed left

farn5-861x695.jpg

And the red light when pushed to the right

farn6-593x712.jpg

Last but not least, the 'Scarab of Imhotep' artifact.

I love this little guy because he does absolutely nothing except to come alive, bug the heck out of everyone, and burrow into the ground :lol

beetleSG1-810x657.jpg

How he looks in CG

beetleSG2-841x740.jpg

So I picked me up a replica like the one they used .....

..... but rather than just painting it and having a 'static' one, I gave it a twist to give it some life as seen on the show :lol

I cut up a spare soap mould I had which was left over from my Bajoran Ark of the Prophets Box Build, and sanded them to shape. For the legs I used some copper wire, drilled holes in the scarab's side and glued them in.

beetlemod-815x572.jpg

Then painted all green.

Ta-Dah :lol !

beetle1-870x659.jpg

beetle2-863x653.jpg

beetle3-856x583.jpg

beetle4-850x643.jpg

beetle5-842x637.jpg

beetle6-842x637.jpg

beetle7-938x711.jpg

Oh by the way, the Farnsworth does this too :lol

What more could I possibly want to represent a Farnsworth :D

And all together on display :)
