Kurtyboy's project updates: 24 July - More blasters

Re: Working on some more props: 15 Jan - ESB blaster progress

Did you damage something on your blasters above? :(

Re: Working on some more props: 15 Jan - ESB blaster progress

I put the scope rings on the wrong way round, obviously didn't look close enough at the reference photos - check the pics above and compare to mine. Unfortunately it's not just s simple case of taking them off and turning them round and they were a nightmare to get on in the first place. They aren't actually functional, the STGW44 scope rails are too narrow for the clamps. You can even see on the originals they didn't use the clamping plate, knob or threaded rod, rather they must be screwed down from above.

I'm at work so I cannot see all the minute details on the photos.

I like the sling on this one so I'm going to copy it having found all the needed parts.

How did end up attaching triangular wooden stock to the rear end of the long ammo Hoth rifle?

I didn't! But I'm thinking of just putting two long countersunk screws through the extension piece from the front.

Got the Bossk blaster weathered. Still need to finish the shoulder stock and find a suitable swivel ring. And add the second real M38 of course.

Weathering techinique learned from the Blaster Master!

Now with sling action!

Not too impressed with my lame wood effect, but I did find a fairly accurate looking swivel ring!

Got it attached now. Two long wood screws between extension block and shoulder stock and two between extension block and STGW44 rear.

Also, just had these made by Marcel Prag from a pair of the almost correct original boots and white leather.

Sent you a PM regarding the M38

Re: Working on some more props: 6 Feb - Working on various things

Working on a new Luke ANH belt now that the original has resurfaced after all these years!

Also working on a Biker Scout so got a blaster kit. Kit was a very poor casting that is requiring a lot of work. Also toying with the idea of using a real singlepoing but it would mean either cutting off part of the central 'ball' or making a large hole in the casting for it to fit into.

Calico sling is done.

Ended up taking 3" off the new mannequins.

Re: Working on some more props: 14 Feb - Naboo CR2 (Calico) blaster completed.

Can you remind us, what is the base for this prop?
