=COMPLETED= Han Solo Blaster Build - $6 Toy Conversion

Re: Han Solo DL-44 Budget & Scratch Build

Neat idea using the top of the torch! Whenever I look at those little things I've been seeing the knurling and thinking it has to have some good use.

$1 led torch at the junk store with nice metal knurling;) The muzzle is the top section of a $1 shampoo bottle and the scope tube is off a $3 metal broom handle, which of course is ironic being the Mauser is called the 'broom handle' :lol Fix the scope to the body and paintin' time!!!

Wow, hey man it looks great ! I would be interested in building one :)
Can you link me the page where you got it please ? :D

Re: Han Solo DL-44 Budget & Scratch Build

I don't think it's allowed to publicly show sales links??....anyway I sent you a PM

Re: Han Solo $26 DL-44 Budget & Scratch Build

Glued the scope mount to the body, removed the paint off the handle as it's not compatible with the type of paint I'll use when painting. The heat sink is a bit of a challenge, will probably have to scratch build from PVC pipe and cut grooves or I'll figure out something or I may leave it off completely......getting closer to finished ;)

Re: Han Solo Blaster - Budget & Scratch Build

Almost done, the handle needs work and a bit more weathering here and there....not too bad for $35;)

Re: Han Solo Blaster - Budget & Scratch Build

This is a really neat build. I like how it comes out feeling a little like a full scale action figure gun. Great work!

Re: Han Solo Blaster - Budget & Scratch Build

Basically finished, I won't go back and build a heat sink, so that's it ;)

The base toy gun was $6 and I spent about $20+ on stuff to scratch build.

I'm happy how it turned out. :D

Han Solo Blaster - Budget & Scratch Build

I love it the way it looks. Just like KramStaar's build, it has the "Bapty as issued" look.

Re: Han Solo Blaster - Budget & Scratch Build

I have seen that gun didn't know if it was about the same size as the airsoft broomehandle.

Re: Han Solo $6 Toy Conversion

Well, that's a nice shelve :)
Can you tell us about your E11, that superb X-Wing (which format is that ?? :D ) and your R2D2? :)

Re: Han Solo $6 Toy Conversion

It's cost about $30 with everything including the clear acrylic rod, it's surprising how accurate the base toy is. ;)

Just goes to show how accurate you can get with some time and effort. Doesnt have to cost a mint to have a great display piece.
