LoZ: Majora's Mask clock face table

I've been working on this for about a week now. I am making a wooden table featuring the Clocktown clock face. So far it has been a pretty neat project. My only complaint is that after about two hours of drawing I realized that I drew it crooked against the woodgrain. Silly me!

Original clock face:

Printed out a 20" reference image (credit to the original creator):

Began tracing and drawing it onto the 20" tabletop I picked up from Lowes:

Started carving the design into it:

Picked up some Aged Oak stain and hit it with two coats. First:

Second coat:

Currently I'm waiting for the second coat to dry, then I'll get cracking on the paint job. I plan to weather it, but depending on how well it turns out, I may just keep it pristine.

Thanks! I really want to make a functioning clock, but I have no idea how electronics work haha. Maybe one day. For now I'll just stick with an awesome table!

Painting has begun! I'm going to get all of the colors down first, then go back and fill in the black outlines.

Sadly my wife is making me call it quits for tonight, but tomorrow I shall continue.

I will most definitely be weathering this. Even though the red will darken as it dries (not sure why it's so vibrant in the photo), I still prefer the weathered look.

EDIT:
I found a mistake on my reference photo. There is a tiny red triangle missing that I have to go back and carve in. Not a big deal at all, but frustrating.

It really turned out beautifully, I need one. I never even thought about it, but now that I see it...I need one.

Another project for the list :)
