Bladerunner blaster resin garage kit

Hi,
This weekend at the local WizardWorld con I picked up a Bladerunner blaster garage kit from Arsenal Models. It's an ok casting that will look nice with some cleanup. But there's some assembly required, and no instructions, so I was wondering if anyone might be able to help.

The triggers and grips look pretty obvious, but where does that rectangular plate go? I did a quick google search for references but didn't see it on any of the angles I found. If you can't tell from the pic, it is very slighly tapered toward one end and slightly convex, with a raised rectangle on one end (which may be a pour spout, IDK) and one small round bump and one small round hole that may represent lights or screws or something.

Also, the left side grip doesn't quite seem to fit right.

It looks like a basic recast of a Doppelganger PKD kit to me. The rectangle piece goes in the gap on the receiver and should be painted a silver colour. I used to have that kit so let me know if you need anymore help

ok, thanks, now I see it. I guess I thought that was just a poorly detailed ejection port, it's kinda odd that the cover is a separate part. Did you have any issues with the fit of the grips?

I agree with Kylo, this is a very basic version of the more complicated Rick Ross PKD kit. As far as I recall, Rick sold this version to another party so its not surprising to see these kits crop up from time to time. I still have an original Ross PKD that I picked up at a sale somewhere (it was appallingly built) years ago and which I upgraded to a - more or less - Worldcon finish in 2009.

Not sure if these would be of any assistance to you with your build?:

thanks, judging by your pics, it looks like the reason my grip won't fit is the safety switch is too low, I may just have to remove it and scratchbuild a replacement.

Wowww.....you did a great job at rusting this piece of plastic :thumbsup
Incredible !!!

Mark....Does the cylinder swing out and do the wires get in the way?

No, the cylinder is static mate. It was a rather beat up build I picked up at a garage sale but Rick has said that its an original.

Since it was already (badly) built before I restored it, I can't recall if the cylinder ever swung out (although I can't be sure) because its totally solid now..

All the best,
M

Arsenal Models are notorious recasters. They have no respect for the hobby and only care about money. In the future I would steer clear from them.

Ah! These are the pictures I used as paint reference for my first kit! Thanks Mark!
Bought my kit from john (Australia) on Etsy. A bit rough around the edges but very happy how it turned out.
