WildCat foam mask

I wanted to make a super hero mask and decided that the foam route was easy and quick. I wanted to make a hero I haven't seen a lot of in the cosplay community so I went with Wildcat

So I down loaded a Black panther mask template which I thought was a good place to start and I could modify it easily. I went out and bought some 3mm & 6mm craft foam sheets and got to work.

I started by cutting out my templates and transferring them to the foam

Using DAP contact cement I started the assembly of the templates and modified as I went along.

So the top of the head came out pretty well.

I made a modified mouth plate to make the cat like face. I felt teeth were needed to capture Wildcats ally cat look.

the Eye piece was something i was skeptical about as they would need to the slightly angled and reshaped.

I then added an addition to the face to make the cat nose appear more dominant

I then beveled the edges and caulked the gaps in the foam as well as burning in the detail around the nose with a soldering iron.

I then sealed the foam with a coat of Mod Podge on the outside and inside surfaces. I then applied 3 coasts of Plastidip.

I then applied gray acrylic paint to the face and white for the fangs I punched in leather cord to make the whiskers. I am very happy with my results.
