Rogue One Costumes Displays at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016

Sure, we got them Shoretroopers, but where are Gravelroadtroopers or Grassyplainstroopers?

Hmmmm, in photos and sizzle reels the regular (revisionist) ANH Stormtroopers don't appear that have any trouble walking on the shore. Weird.

Seriously, we need more specialized trooperz and characters unseen in any other Star Wars movie!

More chrome onez or black onez. Maybe an anodized gold trooper of some kind... Also we need more Imperials in white uniforms in charge of Death Star development.

Because, we all know it wasn't Grand Moff Tarkin or anything...

Any chance we can get more of a front view of the suit on the left here?

In the Entertainment Rogue One thread this was discussed as mainly being fan service so we can distinguish them. They're all Stormtroopers (like the Snowtroopers). I said it would be funny if the Snowtroopers are in the ship barracks and the intercom on the ship says "Arriving at..." and they all cross their fingers and say "C'mon snow planet!" :lol Some might always do a specific job, but I'm betting it's mainly just switching to the right armor for the environment.

I'm really excited for this movie!

Here's a post from a couple of days ago about the death trooper costumes:

I thought I spotted this on the Celebration poster, but the new pictures show it much better: the death troopers use the SE-14r as their sidearm:

They also seem to wear gloves similar to the ones used by First Order stormtroopers:

View attachment 644613View attachment 644612

Also, it seems like there's standard and heavy death troopers variants. The standard one carries the E-11-like blaster:

View attachment 644607

I thought I remembered seeing that stock before (Deadshot uses one on a Daniel Defense DDM4 MK18 in Suicide Squad) and I've managed to ID it as a sliding stock for AR-15-style weapons (http://www.wgcshop.com/products?sea...l-parts--hk416c-aeg-stock-assembly-complete):

View attachment 644608View attachment 644605

Funnily enough, this means that, like the F-11Ds, the death trooper blaster has two collapsible stocks.

Another thing I thought I saw on the Celebration poster: their weapons have the knock off SureFire M300 flashlights seen on the normal E-11s (looks like my guess about flashlights on IMFDB was right; maybe there will be a shot illuminated by flashlights):

View attachment 644629View attachment 644610

The heavy death troopers seem to use a blaster based on the DLT-19 with added stuff, like what seems to be two flashlights:

View attachment 644609View attachment 644630View attachment 644601

The Parts of Star Wars identified the vests and magazines the heavies use as the "Condor Barrage Chest Rig" (http://www.condoroutdoor.com/Condor-US1051-Barrage-Chest-Rig.aspx) and "H&K magazines for the H&K Model 91 or G-3 .308 rifle," respectively:

The heavy troopers also have MP 40 magazine pouches (like some sandtroopers and First Order stormtroopers):

They've also got some fictional grenades:

And here's where I got the pictures from: http://imgur.com/gallery/t3ID7

Sorry for the long post.

That VFC HK416C stock was just a guess, since many companies make nearly identical stocks, but The Parts of Star Wars confirmed that VFCs were used in the film.

Some new things I noticed:

One of the death troopers on display has some sort of device attached to the side of the helmet:

Both of these guys have them:

And the heavy death trooper that went on stage was carrying the E-11-style blaster:

Chelsea boots

I realize now that i missed an entire page of conversation so disregard.

That is the style of the boot but not the specific boot. I have been looking at every Chelsea boot i can find and none have those details. There is also a visible logo that I cant seem to identify. The way it is stitched is very unique, most Chelsea boots have a vertical stitch between the elastic panel and the sole. The way the heel is wrapped, it sits on top of the seam at the back of the heel from the sole to the top of the boot and the double layer around the front. Should be easy to confirm once we find a good candidate.

A good friend of mine, Kevin Wu (ID 1594), who is currently at Celebration Europe 2016, sent me these photos and I thought I'd share them here (with his permission of course).

I'm liking those Shoretroopers and I'm digging thier blasters.

I'm stoked that they at least tried to match the original suits!

I'm sure they made adjustments, tried to make movement easier, etc.

I get it. They did their homework, probably cut some corners, made things a little simpler, but I feel like the spirit is there.

I'm not a big fan of the new Stormtrooper armor, I understand they needed to upgrade the suits for today's HD cinematics where the classic one with bumps and warts couldn't quite fit in, but there are things on the new armor that look very weird. Though the Stormtrooper helmet has some interesting upgrades like the ears and the tube vents

Very cool costumes! I'm loving the design direction of this film. Also, I believe I have identified the Death Trooper boots and since I have yet to see anybody else post about them, I thought I would share. I believe them to be Dr. Martens Mayer boots. If you compare these images...

IMG-20160715-WA0006_zps1fkj6tup.jpgIMG-20160715-WA0008_zpsns4yjfz8.jpg
... you will see the similarities immediately.

If you live in the US these boots are no longer available through the Dr Martens website, but the will show up on eBay from time to time. Luckily, I have a pair which I wear on a daily basis and it's how I recognized them! I hope this helps!

Quick Edit: I should note that if you can't find any Mayer boots the Talib boot is a very close alternative.

Perfect! Great find. I thought they looked like Dr. Martens soles, but didn't see the Mayer before.
