Man what a detailed model!!

Started off with the cockpit.
Used a grey/blue for the dashboard and control panels.
Unfortunately the decals for Gold Leader were a bit lacking so I had to resort to brush, paint and a steady hand -

Finally had my first mishap.
Snapped a couple of pipes but managed to repair them.
A bit of masking and ready for priming-

Mix of black and light grey Vallejo primer.
Then a white base.
Yellow is a bit brilliant but that will be pulled back during the clear coat....I hope.

Some tricky masking but managed-

On to the blues-
decided to do a gradiant of light blue to darker blue.
Light blue on front of the canopy and front of the engine stripe and gradual shift to darker blue on the rear of the canopy and stripes.

Used a sky blue mixed with USAF light grey.

Then added darker blue and a darker grey-

Now on to the fun part-
Weathering.

I dont like doing washes on many SW ships mainly because most of the ships dont really have panel line weathering and its hard for me to to control washes to my liking.
So, i got my super fine brushed and pastels.

Quick reference check.
Meh, close enough-

Still working on weathering.
More updates soon!

Great job. Is that the Japanese Bandai Star Wars book?

Thats the Japanese Star Wars Chronicles: Vehicles book.

While i have used those for references Ive also been using some other reference pics which has added weathering. More streaks, and little things here and there.
Those must have been added after the chronicles photo.

If those are the pics that Monsieur Tox posted https://www.facebook.com/The-Star-Destroyer-Project-by-Monsieurtox-546509578715505/

, then yes, that there was additional weathering added after those Chronicles pics

Once my Cygnus build is completed I'll be looking something a bit smaller to work at. This is just the thing. Looks good!

Amazing detail perfectly weathered to it's scale. I believe that is the hardest thing to do, matching the paint job and weathering to the scale you're trying to replicate. You sir, win the day.

Sorry, had to re upload my photos becausr Photobucket cut the 3rd party linking.

Dont know if my photos are in the same order as before. :/
