New Star Trek TOS Phaser coming November 2014

I am sure the fins have to come off first. The 2 halves if the body are between them.

I also think this Is true. on the schematic. the fins are not touching that block. I'm thinking that Is were the wall of the P2 Is. but I bet when someone gets it off. it's going to leave a scar In the plastic on both side's. from what I'm calling the fish hooks..

Sorry to keep butting in to the original phaser detail talk, but is anyone else's sight sitting like this? It's fairly even to the surface on the left side when closed, but drops down a lot on the right side. And then crooked when coming up, but locking in to place straight. The dissection pics even make the clear sight piece look like it might be wider on one end than the other, which would explain the drop, but it seems like the first phaser I received was flush all the way across.

Mine has that too. I think they all have it. If the wheel that moves the sights was in the center, it would not have been the case. But the wheel pushing on one side I think is the problem.

Also, I got an email back from the Wand Company (very quickly, I might add) when I asked them about the glitches I was having on my effects. Besides shutting it off and letting it sit a moment, they said to try wiping down the contacts on both the P1 and 2 and trying it again. I'll do it tonight and see if it helps.

I wiped down the contacts and the emitter on the P2 worked every time since. But to get rid of the "sorry" messages I had to charge the P1 after letting the battery drain to the point that you get the "drained power pack" message every time you pull the trigger. So don't connect your charger after you get one "drained cells" message, go on using the phaser until you get the message every time. Then connect your charger and let it charge until the light becomes green. Took about 3 hours, but I haven't gotten any "sorry" messages or not working P2 emitter ever since.

That is what I think too. That is why I think I may need to sacrifice the fins to get this open. They would be easy enough to upgrade.

Just got mine yesterday and finished charging it an hour ago...

This is one of the best props I've spent less than $200 on! Love! It! :D

I missed out on the MR TOS phasers many moons ago (which now go for well over $1000 on ebay); for me this new phaser makes up for it!

I can appreciate that it has some inaccuracies (from minor to glaring for those in the know), however with all the flashy lights and sounds
I don't care! :thumbsup :lol

Maybe I'm just easy to please. ;)

At any rate, very pleased with my purchase! Oh and I bought it from Thinkgeek. DHL shipping to Canada arrived in 3 days (once the monkeys actually finished processing my order which took 5 days). Came in a box with a "bit" of packing air pillows. The (cardboard) phaser box was undamaged and both the phaser case and its contents were in perfect condition.

Just bought my second one. Thinkgeek code whirrr for 30 percent off...only nine more to go for my Galileo locker!!!!

Please forgive me if this has been mentioned, does anyone else have this problem with the alignment of the emitter and muzzle ring when in the extended position?

It's ok in the retracted position

Should I suck it up and live with it?

If it makes you unhappy, why live with it? Send it back.

Mine is the same, but I hadn't noticed till I read your post, since I keep mine retracted. Looks more like the heroes that way. The long emitters were a midgrade thing. Anyway, I'm delighted with mine. Whatever trivial defects (in my mind) it may have, it's not like I paid $500 for it. It's beautiful, it's accurate, and I'll say it again, the best commercial replica ever. At $150, it's just an amazing value.

Yes, mine does this too. I'd been wondering if anyone else had seen this- thanks for posting about it! It's doesn't bother me too much, though I'm curious if my second phaser (yet to be opened) has that too.

I've noticed mine does that but only at the very extreme of the extension. Backing off a partial turn puts it back into good alignment. After hearing about others breaking the extension mechanism by trying to turn it past the stop makes me wary of extending it to the point of any resistance... Still looks good nearly all the way extended anyway :)

Yeah, I can live with it. I don't want to send them back. I'm still quite pleased. Definitely a great value. I picked up 2 of them.

of the 2 I got from ST.COM 1 has a very tight emitter and the other works just fine. You must understand that anything mass produced in China will have defective units sent out anyway, say 1 to 20 out of 100 may be bad, they will sneak in the bad 1s here and there to alleviate production losses.

Just quoting myself from Nov. 30th about the defect ratio

I think this proves the tab or tabs holding the emitter In side of the thread gear are on the left and right side. If there are two tabs on It. this pushing to the side could be explained by one tab breaking of on the left side.then when fully extended the right side tab Is going a little further than It should thus pushing It to the left. just a possibility so far tho.

Same here.

At on point mr. Nimoy had a pair of series ears, and a pair of TWOK ears. But both have since been auctioned off for charity. Real nice shadow boxes wth signature plaques too. Nice guy I'd love to meet him.

I wonder what the percentage of product returns will amount too. and I also wonder if It would save the company's involved. some cash if they hand inspected these before shipping.
