I guess Murphy's law kicked in on my Back to the Future Pepsi Perfect build. The silicone stuck to the master and the resulting mold isn't usable and had to be trashed.
Worse, after cleaning and prepping the master to re-mold I knocked it off my workbench (while working a different project) and damaged it.
So, next step is repairs then another attempt to mold it.
I'll get there eventually, just was hoping to have actually poured some castings last week instead of having to redo prior work.
But, as some famous person once said, "If you come to a fork in the road...
take it."

Not sure how exciting an update this will be...
I've spent the last few days cleaning both the garage and the house - too much junk! But I did manage to do this
Sanded these lawn trimming covered greeblies
I actually kinda like the worn out look against the orange and black acrylic
I painted the "vent" - WAY TOO DARK. I know I have a lighter color somewhere
Daniel and Co installed new shocks on the laser cutter lid - no more SLAM on the fingers
WOW... something is seriously wrong with the paint I used! CRACKS!
Not sure what's going on... same paints I've been using.
More sanding ahead

From REALLY far away they look good!
That's it for now. Today? Who knows what might happen...

OH MAN! That's one of the worst feelings... catching the edge of something and having it crash. UGH Life is a series of 1 step forward 2 steps back. How else will we ever not get to where we wish we were? HUH?

Threat of rain / periodical showers prevented me from moving too far forward... But yesterday Jessie and I were able to get the two nav chair riser platforms near finished and in place. The risers and new panels you see here added the original 12" I removed when I first started the project!
Chewie's side - a new nav chair riser and long rectangular panel show the added 12"
Han's side
Checking alignment
The small area just in front of the door will be the only visible area left of the original platform - everything else is being removed or replaced
Boxes enclosed
Drilling the bolt holes - this took more time than I thought
Added shelves, checking alignment prepping for nose platform (note the 1x12)
Giving everything a look over
All these panels are new to the original cockpit I’ve been building. It almost feels like I’m building a second cockpit all together. In all, there are approx. 14-16 new panels – not counting an all new main platform that everything will rest upon. We’re working to make it MUCH lighter than the original.
Not much to look at... but it is progress

Once the black dried I gave them all a shot of the silver paint
Waiting to be mounted
Then Daniel and Jessie nice enough to pop over and help out with the new platforms - the new nose platform starting

I have a few measurements to figure out but these dreaded platforms should be done by the end of the holiday weekend!

With seats posts in their basic configuration
Still have to create the two 6" risers / panels under the nose panels - I might add a conical shape to these to reflect the shape of the front window
She's a beast!

Thanks so much! All the photos and 3D models dont really give you a full sense of scale. This thing is HUGE! It's funny... other than the lower platform (which is also being redone) those are all brand new panels. How am I going to transport everything? UGH
