I debated this project for a few weeks, wondering if it would be appropriate based on her unfortunate passing. Given her iconic status and role in the SW universe, I felt including this figure in my collection was almost mandatory. So, I decided to move forward with it.
I was able to pick up one of Chewie's excellent casts.
I found a great plastic mannequin on eBay for $53 which included shipping, it'll work perfect for this project. Although this mannequin is not totally anatomically correct, it felt weird posting so I edited it!
I also found some pose-able hands on Amazon that I want to use when I modify the arms. Rather than have the traditional arms-down-by-the-sides mannequin pose, I'm going to have one hand over the other, in front, about waist high.
I modified the neck and did a test fit of the head. Still need to tweak it some then I can start airbrushing. I'm also going to modify the feet because this mannequin was designed to wear high heels, so the feet are slanted making it taller. I think Carrie was around 5'1" which I will get close to after making mods to the neck and feet. It was originally around 5'7".
