Limited Run Resin M-19 / 32 Scope Upgrade Parts Set

The shop made extra parts for the brass M-19 replicas that I am providing with my Active Project Kits and I bought them.

So I had to figure out a way to recoup that expenditure and I came up with the "M-19 *BRASS* Scope Upgrade Parts Set'

The concept behind the M-19 *BRASS* Scope Upgrade Parts Set is that you drill the resin scope body to accept the glass lenses and brass parts which will greatly improve the look of the resin replica.

This may sound complicated but I am going to offer this service for an undetermined labor cost on a limited basis.

I only have 15 complete parts sets so it is very limited.

I need to modify one resin scope to figure out the labor cost but I’m sure I can do it for less the $25 so for less then $100 you can have a super nice Resin Scope.

Vince aka Corellian Exports is going to provide black resin scopes for $25 or cold cast bronze scope for $30

The cost of the parts kit is $72 and included the following parts:

  • Light Socket (Notched or Full Ring)
  • Front Lens Ring
  • Rear Lens Ring
  • Scope Mounting Bolts
  • Clear Lens Set

I spoke with Vince.

He is going to make a mold of my modified M-19 scope and will be able to provide black resin copies for around $25

Since there will be a lot less material to remove I should be able to make the final mods for around $10

Yes, I'll be able to provide resin copies in black for $25 each.

I'll also be able to provide resin motor/coils, the tiny "c" clips or modified motor/coil pieces for $1 each.

A standard, solid M-19 resin scope is $25. Cold cast bronze scopes are $30 each.

Ooh I need a scope! I have been searching for something other than resin so this is perfect. You've got a new email heading your way!

I have given Vince the go ahead to cast the scopes for this.

If you are on the fence you might want get in on this run soon since I only have a few kits left

I'm in!
Boba,
In the email you just sent me, you recommend the black resin. Earlier in this thread (post 5), you said bronze is the way to go. I was just curious why you changed your mind. Is the bronze more fragile? Harder to get decent casts? Harder to drill?
Cold cast bronze certainly sounds more appealing.

I didn't quite understand the cold cast bronze process until I received a test unit from Vince.

I thought the bronze color was all through the resin but it seems to be a thin layer on the outside of it.

When I drilled it white resin was reviled and had to be painted.

The black resin will negate the process of painting the inside of the scope once it is drilled.
