This is an interest thread for an electronics kit for Doctor Octoroc 3D printed Peter Capaldi Sonic Screwdriver kit. His interest thread is http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=251949.
I have designed two versions of the electronics. The full version includes an LED light board that creates the rotating blue light pattern seen on the sonic screwdriver in the season 9 finally and the 2015 Christmas Special. The kit also includes a sound board with a twenty second clip of the sonic screwdriver sound. The sound is taken directly from the show. The kit will be assembled into Doctor Octoroc's housing for easy installation into his sonic screwdriver kit.
The other kit is an economy kit that only has the light board. This kit will be assembled into the same housing for easy assembly.
I will have pictures and pricing posted by the end of the week. These kits are hand built so if there is interest this will be a limited run. The first run will be 5 full kits and 5 economy kits. If there is enough interest there will be more runs.
So take a look at Doctor Octoroc's interest thread to see his excellent Sonic Screwdriver and check back here for picture and pricing. I will create an interest list in this thread if there are people that sign up.
UPDATE: I have figured out pricing for the two types of kits.
The Full Kit will be $100.00 a kit plus shipping and handling. This is a complete module with lights and sound ready to install in Doctor Octoroc's sonic screwdriver with no wiring or soldering.
The Economy Kit will be $60.00 plus shipping and handling. This is a drop in module with the revolving light pattern ready to install in Doctor Octoroc's sonic screwdriver with no wiring or soldering.
Important: When Doctor Octoroc has installed my electronics and verified everything fits I will be ready to begin. I will ask for half the price upfront to order materials. I will order parts once I have received the down payment. That means that the boards and 3D printed part will be a week to two weeks to get after ordering. Once parts have arrived it will take time to assemble, record audio and test the kits. I point this out because there will be a delay between the time you order and shipping of the kit. I hate to ask for money upfront but last time I tried to do an electronics run I bought everything in advance and built all the kits to find that everyone backed out.
Please Note: The sound in the video is not as good as it sounds in person. My camera has a poor microphone.
