Ya know, now that you mention it, I think you are right! I copied mine from a resin kit that overall was pretty nice, but I think it was wrong in this regard, too. Dang, I may need to make another!

Well don't feel bad Felgacarb, my first resin kit was based on the inaccurate Tech Manual plans and was totally undersized!
And this detail is pretty subtle - I think they look fantastic even if they don't technically match the hero!

The other thing that is weird with these nozzles is the fact that they are not all the same. The top one is more nozzle and very little base (the square part) the bottom one is more base and very little nozzle. Even the ones that I've been working on I have made the nozzles all the same. I am working to day on finishing up the wooden comlock and I hoping to post some pics of side by side comparisons of the wooden models vs the 3D printed models.

The nozzles are different lengths to offset the angle of the front of the stun gun, as pointed out by Blackbirdcd,

I assume this is a screen capture. The angle of the front of the gun is interesting, It would seem the two drawings that I have been working off of are both wrong, They both show a 90 degree angle between the top and the front of the gun.

So here are some pics of the finished products. These are the guns, the first shows all three of the guns which includes the first one, which ended up being a little too large. My fault for not doing as much research as I should have. I guess that includes not knowing about the 87 degree angle on the front of the gun as well. Although Im sure that all my models will pass the 10 foot rule. (hows it look from 10 feet away). In the other pics the wooden hand carved gun is on the left and the 3D printed one is on the right. (the third pic the 3d is on the left, I tried to keep them on the same side but that didn't work out so well) For the wooden model I did 3d print the slide switch on the top of the gun. My original design for the wooden gun was to not have the slide switch. Screen captures from the pilot show no slide switch. I did use Felgacarb's idea of using the end of pens to make the nozzles.

Here are the comlocks, in this case the 3D printed one is on the left and the wooden one is on the right. I am waiting for some decals to arrive so I can put numbers on the buttons on the 3d printed model. The wooden model I used the buttons from a calculator and glued them onto the surface, so I took some artistic license with some of the sizes and colors of the buttons, because I wanted to use what I could from the calculator. The screen on these came out quite different, the wooden model I simply shaped the wood into a sloping block and painted a blue square on the top of it. The 3d model had only a square sloping frame around a flat interior. I then took a piece of clear pvc plastic from the hobby store (0.02) and shaped it into a curved surface using the bottom of spray paint can, back painted it blue and inserted into the frame. It really looks like a little television screen.

Hi guys, I know all about these stun guns and commlocks.
I can get you hooked up with whatever you need. The emitters are aluminum and the commlock and stun gun are resin and damned near perfect. These are 10 times better than the original props!

From what I was told back in the day, the original stun gun prop was made from an off the shelf staple gun with some redressing
The nozzles were from a pop rivet tool. I got one in the 80's and still have it somewhere in my workshop
It came with four nozzles for different size shafts of the pop rivets and screwed in to the side or the end of the tool, for hard to get to rivets.
The label has worn off it so I don't have a brand name for the tool and I have not seen it on the market for years

But the original Hero prop nozzles (as I was told by the guys on the show) had a six sided base that was all the same height on each nozzle (to be put on with a spanner)
The hole in the center got smaller for each nozzle
Now there may be some confusion with the background prop gun as they were not made the same.
During production of the show, they may not have always used the Hero props all the time for close-ups

Not sure about that my friend but these parts have been designed by Canadian Mike Reader who is in contact with the higher ups in 1999 prop collecting in the UK. The Small Art Works stun gun is said to be very accurate. And as hard nosed about accuracy my friend Jim Small is I'm 100% they are.

I believe I recall seeing you at WF last year. That was a fantastic large scale Eagle - thanks JeffZugale!
I'm not so sure that the stun gun was a found object - but I'm willing to be wrong about that. Parts of it? Sure, but the main body looks crafted to me personally. But if it was based on a real staple gun, that would be cool to see (like the old plastic pencil case used for the original Star Trek communicators).
