1/650 EE vac kit

Thanks Richard.
Once we receive a set of Masters from Rel, we will be going over it with a fine tooth comb and molding it to produce a female resin vacuform mold. Because of the size of the kit, we are inthe process of building a second (larger) vacuform table to go along with our current one.
As soon as we get the masters and have a chance to assess things, we can start looking at when we can start casting and pulling plastic. Because we want to make sure this is done right, we are not going to rush it into production. We want to make this a great vacuform kit that will be a little more affordable, but retain the quality model that Rel created. Pricing is not available yet. We need to figure out how much the materials are going to cost and what it will take to make.
We are not taking orders yet, but certainly want to hear if people are interested in a vacuformed version of this. Please don't hesitate to post here, PM me or e-mail us at awstudios@verizon.net.

I think where the plastic has to be thin enough to capture details, LED's should be able to shine thru the plastic anyway. All you would have to do is a few coats of black on the outside and then after it's all painted sratch the paint off the windows you want lit. cept that would pose a problem for the nacelles...

We will be looking at all of the alternatives that will be possible. If we can do lear plastic, then we will. My goal is to pull in at least .060 styrene to give it some stability. We will be making female molds to capture her detail.

Yes it is the Eneterprise E. He has been producing these in Fiberglass for the past year. Not really that ambitious. Just need to make female molds from the masters abd them vacuform using them. Our current table pulls 27+ inches of mercury, so we should be able to get a nice draw. We are building a new/larger table that we hope will heattheplastic more efficiently as well.
Right now it will be pulled in white HIPS styrene. We hope to pull in .060. If clear is available and affodanle, we will try it.
