From your picture, it looks fine.

It is aqua (blue-green) which is the correct colour. The one in your picture looks like aqua.

Sometimes it depends on the camera too, on some cameras, the aqua can look more blue, while in others it can look slightly more greenish.

Take a picture of the EL behind the clear soles, see what it looks like, but i'm pretty sure you have the correct aqua EL sheet.

Thanks! Here's a video of my EL behind the clear sole. Yeah, you're right about the camera. On film, the aqua does look more blue. But when I look at it right in front of me, the aqua has a more greenish tint. It's weird how the colors appear differently on various mediums.

I'm printing out the Nike logo from the laser printer. I read in the previous posts that some of you had to do multiple passes through the laser printer to get the black on the logo dark enough so no EL light passes through. How are you guys able to get it where there is no overlap if you are putting the paper back into the tray? I seem to be getting overlap when I try to reprint over my first print and am having trouble trying to get a perfect alignment through the feeder.

Or is there a print setting that gets the black area dark enough the first time around?

Just two passes.

Thanks Brad! I was originally feeding the sheets in the standard tray. Feeding it through the manual feeder made a huge difference with precision.

I recently received my delivery for the black Nike Mag's from Karin Chen. I love my gray Mags, but there was something aesthetically pleasing about seeing the Mags in black when I first laid eyes on them. I wear a lot of black clothing, so these will go great when I'm out and about. I'm a huge Air Jordan collector, but the Mag is quickly becoming my all time favorite sneaker! I think I'm becoming too into these as I've even changed the wallpaper on my smartphone to a Nike Mag wallpaper.

MCabrera I had the same issue with the prints coming out messed up, I didn't know about my printers manual feeder so what I did was just printed one pass and then used multiple stickers and stacked them on top of each other very carefully. But the manual feeder option is a tip I will use on my next build, I need to get on that, I have had two pairs of mags just sitting in the boxes in my room for like two months or more! Work has been kicking my ass lately...

For the wire tape, does it matter which side do I apply the wire glue on? Do I apply wire glue on the side that has the two different colors? Or the side where both wires are copper colored?

the coloured sides are where you solder onto. the brown sticky copper side you don't solder!

Yep. The sticky side won't get a connection due to the adhesive that's on it.

I must be doing something wrong. I wanted to test the connection of my EL strip to the wire tape but I can't get it to light up.

I placed the wire glue onto the colored sides as suggested. (Picture A) I applied one wire to the darkened metal section and one wire to the non-darkened section at the end/edge of the EL strip.

Just showing what the underside of my connection looks like (Picture B)

I tried to use the wires directly from my invertor and touched the colored side of the wire tape, hoping that the EL strip would light up (Picture C). Nothing happened. What am I doing wrong here? Did I glue the wire tape to the incorrect side of the EL strip or something? I noticed that the wire glue had some slight "spillage" from the darkened metal section into the non-darkened section of the EL strip. Could that be the reason why it's not illuminating when I connect the inverter?

Ok, so it was due to the spillage of wire glue. I shall try again. Just to make sure, I am able to affix the wire tape to any of the sections in the picture that I denoted with the red arrows, right? I am somewhat confused into thinking the only possible way to light up the EL is to glue the wire to the soldered metal prong connectors that stick out.

Also, when you guys are applying the wire glue, are you using a toothpick and just dabbling a conservative amount of glue to avoid spillage from pressing the wire tape into the EL? I'm worried about not using enough glue, but when I apply the glue, it seems a bit too much and tends to spill over.

I usually leave the top off the wire glue container for a couple hours. Let the wire glue dry up a little. It will get thicker and less runny then I use a Q-Tip with the end snipped off to apply it. I put the wire tape onto the spots and let it dry. Then I apply a few more coats of the wore glue, letting each one dry.

Ok, I glued the wire tape to the non-light side of the panel.

However, the EL is still not lighting up. Where I'm confused on is where are the attachment points on the EL to glue on? Are they on the edges of the EL sheet where the alternating black squares are (yellow arrows)? Or is it strictly where there is pre-attached foil metal where the metal prongs protrude out of (purple arrows)? Something doesn't seem right to me in glueing the wire tape to those black square areas because there doesn't seem to be a metal to metal connection. :confused

It looks like the EL sheet you have has a protective coating on the "terminals". The black areas are where you should attach them but they should look grey.

Can you not do a dry run? If you have the power supply connected to the inverter, can you not just place the active terminals (ends of the wire) on the tabs to see which ones actually light the sheet? I have not played with this stuff yet, so don't really know, but I don't see how this stuff would be damaged by a simple test.

I just received my EL PANEL, the same as mcabrera1275. I power it with 9V voltage, but it doesn't work or in fact very low light ! Why ? I must cut it a small piece ? :behave

Yes, you'll have to cut it into smaller pieces as the inverter isn't powerful enough to light up the entire sheet.

Are you guys removing both sides of the paper surrounding the wire tape before you glue together the ankle strap with the 3M spray? Or are you leaving the paper sides on?
