As many of you know over the past few months we have been reaching out to members and getting feedback from quite a number of you. Two of the concerns most often expressed center around the infraction system and the CoC. With your input in mind, we have revisited both areas are pleased to present them to you.
Improved Infraction System
Many of you shared a concern about the never-expiring nature of the old infraction system. Some have even stated that they felt hesitant to post because they have years-old infractions for minor incidents and feel they are one slip-up away from being banned.
Expiring Infractions - To directly address that concern, ALL infractions will now expire after 12 months.
NOTE: if you currently have an infraction, the software will not automatically convert it to "expired", however, from this point forward, the staff will consider any infraction over 12 months old as expired whether the software shows it as such or not.
No More "4 Strikes in a Lifetime and You're Out"
We will make use of the expiration feature and, rather than banning based on a small number of lifetime incidents, we will now review a member's status when a member reaches a certain number incidents in a 12 month period.
If a member accumulates 3 infractions in a 12 month period, that member's status will be reviewed with the potential for a temporary ban.
If a member accumulates 4 infractions in a 12 month period, that member's status will be reviewed and considered for permanent removal.
Please note that regardless of accumulated infractions, certain severe actions may result in an immediate temporary or permanent ban.
Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct (CoC) has now become the Member Guidelines (MGL) and has been updated to reflect the changes listed above.
We have also made efforts to clarify the guidelines, based on comments and criticism we have received from you, the members. While the overall look of the MGL has changed, this is not a new set of rules, just a minor revision and clarification of the previous set.
We feel these are positive steps forward and will monitor how they work in practice. Rest assured that if needed, will revisit in the future and continue to work to make the RPF experience a good one.
As always, we are listening and looking forward to your input. If you have constructive suggestions, please feel free to post them in the Suggestions forum. If you have comments or criticism, please feel free to PM a member of the staff.
