What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

Blood looks very good! Especially the accumulated drops on the helmet!

Or...

Is it real?

Original energy blaster for a TV pilot we are working on.

Those toners must have originally been designed to be rifles!

that's my interpretation :lol

Re: What's on your workbench?

Yea I saw that exact same gun in a game magazine about half a year or so ago. Small world...

Yup, that was me. Made it into xbox, playstation, and PC gamer magazine here in the states, and a few across the pond as well. Blew my mind!

I'm making 5 duplicates right now. I'm not going to do any more full builds after that, though I may offer them in a kit if I can figure out a good way to mold the barrel.

Ran out of resin after the 4th front casing.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Thanks a lot :thumbsup

Yeah, the paint is a blue/grey base coat, still trying to find the best (base) colour for this piece.
In the pilot episode, the “hope” part looks blue/grey on screen, on the pictures shown in ‘The making of TSCC’ the part looks more green. It’s a bit confusing…

I think I’m gonna paint the part as shown in the pilot.

Re: What's on your workbench?

The last part of my project, I'd guesstimate its' taken a solid 4 afternoons to finish up.
The fiberglass and bondo is very forgiving when you're making pre-historic looking armor :D

My studio mold hardcopy of the Kilmer torso, needs some TLC, a little bit of sand and fill and a killer paint job.

Haven't been on The RPF in a long time. Here's what I have been up to.

I have sculpted, molded, and am casting this (red crystal is a test casting, and nothing has been painted) ...

You bet! Right now I'm working on the electronics for the ribbon device so it lights up. They are turning out very nice thus far.

The goggles are from Jurassic Park. They are the night vision goggles that Tim used to spot the T-Rex.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Here's what just left my workbench:

Although I'm not really sure it qualifies, since almost all I did was apply the decals. However, the cap took me quite a bit of time. I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to buy a bottle of JWB to fill it...

Decisions, decisions.

Re: What's on your workbench?

On top of the Cross of Coronado that I'm doing, I'm also making the necklace that the Maharaja wore in Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom.
I've ordered a pretty accurate Indian/Afghan choker necklace to be used as the base. Plus, the metal monkey skulls that I used on the Voodoo pin that I made earlier this year, will be modified to be used for the necklace.
On top of all that, I've acquired some real lion claws to be adorning the necklace between the skulls!:love:thumbsup
I'll also be sculpting and casting the metal setting bracket for the claws as well...

You'll notice in the screencap, the Maharaja is having a wardrobe malfunction with the center skull starting to come off.;-)
