Twister (1996) Replica ‘Dorothy’ Sensor

I’ve been lucky enough to know someone who owns a screen used Dorothy sensor and they were kind enough to provide me with high res photos so that I can build this replica.

I’ve managed to source authentic components for this build, and the placement of the traces on the PCB are almost exact to the real thing.

I just wanted to share these photos of my first proper replica build, I’ll add some more with the Pepsi can ‘propellers’ later :)

I absolutely love this prop! I saw a few production originals when I stayed a night at the house in Iowa from the final scene in the film. Can’t wait to see the Pepsi propellers!

You're so welcome! You do great work! Thanks for the additional pics! I rewatched this movie recently and forgot it was one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's first roles. It was funny seeing him play a goofy dude. It also made me miss Bill Paxton. What a talented actor and director.
