My current Gorilla build.

Started another Gorilla suit build. This one is going to be more refined.

I'm currently working on the mask. It's going to be cast in silicone over a fiberglass underskull with the basic lip-curl mechanism. Suit will have a custom muscle suit and NFT Fur. Working hard to get it done for Monsterpalooza in June.

Any updates on this? Did you make your June deadline? I would love to see a finished product and how the sculpt got worked in to a final design.

Not much movement on the project. I did get a great silicone skin and underskull. I used thermal Poly dental gum and bison teeth cast in dental acrylic.

After talking to guys in the industry,, I decided to try a different design based off George Barrows' famous gorilla. They told me it will be more marketable.

Man, you quickly captured the Addams Family gorilla look... I saw it immediately when I scrolled down to those pictures. Pretty damn cool.

I've got a lot of updates. I'm working with Foam Fabricator and SFX Artist Ted Haines (Stan Winston School of Character Arts Instructor) for my muscle suit.

I made my Gorilla Hands. I took my resin masters and cast them in silicone. Once I got my silicone molds, I pressed hard Monster Clay in the molds to get clay masters that I could cast in Ultracal.

I made my mask in a very thin layer of Latex. I made two versions, one with cotton batting glued to the underside of the latex and one with a layer of Polyfoam to get a foam latex feel. Worked great. I then made a fiberglass underskull and fabricated teeth using resin cast of Gorilla teeth in silicone. In the silicone I poured liquefied Monster Clay to get a master I could manipulate to fit the fiberglass mouth area. Once I got the Clay teeth to fit the underskull, I molded them in Silicone and cast them in Dental gum and tooth acrylic. I glued everything to the underskull.

How do you make the final step (ie the hand gloves) in you ultracal mold ?
