Elegant little kit with very few pieces that go together perfectly. For this, it’s all about getting a good paint finish and lighting it up. The plastic is very smooth to begin with, so little sanding was required. Just a good polishing before laying down a black base and some Alclad Copper. This kit was designed for lighting. The clear parts are fantastic (the heat ray actually has the honeycomb detail as seen in the movie!) and the neck is hollow, allowing for wires to reach the heat ray easily. For mine, I simply used some wedding reception LEDs I purchased from Joann’s, and installed it so the switch has easy access underneath. Honestly, one of my favorite builds (no glue was required) as everything fit perfectly and I really enjoyed the painting process. Kinda wish I took a pic of it with just the black base - it looked truly evil!
