Classifieds Guidelines

Before buying or selling in our community, please familiarize yourself with these guidelines.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

    1. ALL BUYING, SELLING, ADVERTISING AND INTEREST THREADS/POSTS MUST BE IN ONE OF THE CLASSIFIEDS FORUMS (Junkyard, Project Runs, Want to Buy).
    2. Because this is such an important point, let us say it again in a slightly different way: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE BUYING, SELLING, ADVERTISING OR INTEREST POSTS/THREADS OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSIFIEDS FORUMS.
    3. Only PREMIUM MEMBERS are allowed to SELL in the community and only in the appropriate CLASSIFIEDS forums.

    4. KICKSTARTER Campaigns (and the like) are considered PROJECT RUNS and belong in the PROJECT RUNS sub-forum.
    5. Any CLASSIFIEDS forum thread that has not had a post in 90 days will be automatically removed.
    6. Members using the CLASSIFIEDS forums do so at their own risk. All transactions are the responsibility of the buyer and seller.
    7. A seller is only allowed to bump their thread once every 24 hours (maximum of 5 threads).
    8. Selling items for, or on behalf of someone else is considered shilling and is not permitted.
    9. Selling for or promoting services, products or sites of banned members or known re-casters is not permitted.
    10. Auctions (other than JUNKYARD "FA" threads), charity auctions, sales mentioning a charity or raffles of any kind are not permitted.
    11. Price "bashing" is not permitted. If you don't like the price of an item move along without comment. If you are interested in buying an item for less than the displayed price, contact the seller ONLY if they have specified that they are willing to accept offers.
    12. A seller may NOT request PayPal payment be made as a "gift" (this means choosing "I'm sending money to family or friends" from the Send Money page in PayPal). A seller may NOT request buyer pay for PayPal fees. If a seller chooses to accept PayPal, all fees should be calculated into the sales price.
    13. The sale or trade of live firearms is strictly prohibited on the site. The sale or trade of deactivated firearms is permitted only if the item in question has been rendered completely non-functional as described under the applicable laws of BOTH the buyer and seller’s home country/state/province.
    14. The decision to sell to a particular member is solely at the discretion of the seller. A seller may not sell to a member for any reason or no (stated) reason at all. Negative feedback left to a seller because they did not want to sell to you will be removed.

MEMBER TYPES

There are four member types in our community. ALL members can BUY on the RPF by posting in an existing CLASSIFIEDS forums thread, or by starting a thread in the WANT TO BUY forum.

    1. New Member – a member who has been registered for less than 90 days OR has less than 50 posts.
      This member CAN NOT SELL or ADVERTISE in the community.
    2. Full Member – a member who has been registered for at least 90 days AND has 50 or more posts.
      This member CAN NOT SELL or ADVERTISE in the community.
    3. Premium New Member - a member who has been registered for less than 90 days OR has less than 50 posts AND has an active PREMIUM MEMBER SUBSCRIPTION.
      This member can only SELL ready to ship items in the JUNKYARD.
    4. Premium Full Member - a member who has been registered for at least 90 days AND has 50 or more posts AND has an active PREMIUM MEMBER SUBSCRIPTION.
      This member can SELL in BOTH the JUNKYARD and PROJECT RUNS forums.

CLASSIFIEDS FORUMS

JUNKYARD - for selling READY TO SHIP items ONLY.
    1. Each thread may contain a single item (or multiples of the same item) for sale or a group of items being sold together for a single price.
    2. When you sell an item, you are required to ship it within 15 days of receipt of payment.
    3. Failure to ship the item within 15 days may result in account termination.

      4. Note: We do not have a "Free" option as there can still be costs associated with such items (shipping). If you want to offer an item for free, simply set the price to zero.

PROJECT RUNS - for limited and unlimited project runs as well as interest threads for those runs. There are four types of threads in the Project Runs forum designated by the thread title prefix that is selected when creating a thread.
    1. Interest (INT) - a thread to gauge interest for a possible run. If/when it becomes a run, the seller needs edit the first post with the sales details and to change the thread title prefix to one of the run prefixes. Interest threads are NOT to be used as a means to solicit offers/bids for an item and are solely for gauging interest in project runs.
    2. Limited Run (LTD RUN) - a thread for selling multiple copies of an item being produced. There is a limited number of items being produced or a predefined length of time that the items will be produced.
    3. Unlimited RUN (UNLTD RUN) - a thread for selling multiple copies of an item being produced with no predefined limit on the quantity or length of time that the item will be be produced (open ended run).
    4. Service (Service) - a thread for offering services / commission work. Post what you offer, examples of your work and pricing guidelines if practical.
    5. Done / Completed (Done / Completed) should be selected when an interest thread does not become a run, a run has been completed, or a service is no longer being offered.
WANT TO BUY - the place for all members to create threads seeking items they wish to purchase.
    1. All member types can start threads in this forum.
    2. Only Premium Members can post responses in these threads.
