Not quite sure why they would switch them up, but they did.
Anyone know offhand where you can get this style of dog tag made?

Yeah, it makes no sense to me...unless I'm missing something. I wouldn't think that he would get new ones later.
Just means the prop department of this movie wasn't worried about continuity with the other movie. Of course it could be written in there somewhere that he gets a new set after losing that set in a fight or something.
Considering how Stryker treats mutants. I'm surprised the dog tags aren't more like tags a dog would wear rather than a soldier. Guess that would have been too obvious on the viewpoints of mutants.
Doesn't Sabertooth rip them off him in the first xmen movie when they are fighting?
Im surprised they changes the style of dog tag, but yet kept the same serial number....??
Im loving the new design for some reason, but I wish they would have kept the indents in the sides like the tags from the x-men movies.
Sabertooth does rip them off in X-Men 1 but Wolverine gets them back later on in the movie.
Ah, I see. I'm not really up on my Wolverine facts.
those may be american style
the original tags (x1, x2, x3) were canadian tags, they have the indent on them because there are 2 tags stuck together with a preforation so they can be broken apart.
Like stryker does in wolverines flashback in X2 i believe.
Does anyone know what this style is called? It isn't standard embossing or debossing because the background is stamped too, almost like highlighted text.
Giving this a bump. Does anyone know what this style of lettering is called or which sites will do it?
I was the first to have the original one finished and will have some of these ready in a few weeks.
cheers
I have a pair from x- men (the canadian style) that i bought off Evilbay about 3years ago,i'm waiting for a new pair with a free wolverine origins tag at the moment.Do a Evilbay search for wolverine dogtags or seller survivalnut , not 100% screen accurate but look good for the low price
Did u get them from a site or make them yourself? I have been looking for this style of dog tag everywhere and have had no luck. Any help?
Both kinds of tags are readilly avilable on Evilbay and also army surplus shops, there is another Evilbay seller who prints (embosses)the american style with anything you want. Also there should be two tags maybe one is out of shot in the main pic
I have never seen this particular kind. Thanks for the Ebay tip madmax.
What should we search for to find this style? It isn't a standard american dog tag. I have found various sources for the canadian version as that is the standard look for canadian dog tags.
On Evilbay uk i just search for dogtags, there are quite a few sellers that deboss the tags(although i can't find a exact match for the wolvy one)
Here's another screen cap of the new tag.
It is not American, British or Canadian. It is 100% custom made by the prop department.
As you can see a rather thick piece of aluminum was used and a trench milled into it and then the lettering was stamped in.
It would be a heck of a project.

It does look like a new custom prop. Maybe instead of authentic Canadian dog tags, they wanted to incorporate adamantium dog tags for the Alpha team? That could work for the movie.
