Is he a member here (i think he must be as he is also selling an "Audrey plant" And a "Labyrinth 'ello!' worm)? He is selling total recall paper props i made and shared in the paper prop thread with the clear request not to use for profit.

Dammit sorry to hear that, and then we get people wondering why people stop sharing stuff
Another name to add to the ever growing list of a-holes.
Email the seller and ask him about it. If he proves to be an *****, bring it up to the mods as I dont think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out who is selling the worms. Good luck, it does stink though.
The worm's not the same as the recent run - not as nice, either. Looks like a bad case of mumps!![]()
I was already skeptical of this seller because of his descriptions of a few other auctions, but this seals it. Thanks for the heads-up.
man I hate recasters
soz this happened man
Nate
Looks like he cancelled the auctions for those items
Seems like he has read this thread and developed a guilty conscience.
Fair play to outing these guys
But if we find him, can he be hung drawn and quartered?
Because of people like this person, it makes it harder for the artists who create the fantastic artwork, which inspires us all, to feel safe about sharing their craft work
Yep. I've got stuff I haven't shared for this very reason.![]()
I had sent the person a message about the poster on ebay and got this response
[FONT=Arial][COLOR=pink]The files that were sold to me came on CD Disc "The Most Amazing Movie Prop CD" on an auction from Australia a while back. I appoligize if they infringed on any copyrights of you or your internet club. I have immeaditly ended the sale of this item and will not be posting it any longer, as I feel I would want the same to happen to myself if I was offended by another's actions. Thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention. Hope you have a good one

Well if that is true he did the right thing , good for him.
Why are there always individuals that have to take advantage from the generosity of people, that are willing to share (for the sake of this hobby)?!
Real shame...
Even if his story is true, he isn't aware of this board and bought the files from australia; He still sells somebody else's work.
Should'nt he know this is not ok?!
BTW: His 'ELLO' Worm looks like a mutated punk... (AND got some bids already).![]()
I let him know where the stuff he was selling came from, so if he should sell more stuff from here he cannot use that excuse. If as he said he purchased a disk choch full of props it would be safe to assume on his part that he could do as he wished with the purchase. once it was brought to his attention that that particular prop was offered as a free item not for sale he took down the auction immediately and appoligized. I cannot vouch for his other items but he did the right thing and immediatly too. counts for something I think.
Yeah i suppose he could have been duped himself and he has ended the auctions so that does point toward him telling the truth.
Yeah, this guy sells my old free BTTF props. The good thing is that the props he is selling of mine are my first time crappy props and no one wants these...
Brad
I would not say they are crappy, I have printed a few of them you sent me, they are nice pieces.
I have to say, given how great the RPF community is in general, the fact that some mouth-breathing oxygen-theif might grab someone's photoshop work and sell it on Ebay is a TERRIBLE reason not to share stuff. (c'mon sumatra, listen up!)
For crissakes! If one could make a lot of money at it, everyone on this board would be rich.
I'm for ignoring them.
Here's the thing: as has been often stated before, the whole prop-collecting/making thing is a big fat grey area. Not as far as I'm concerned, but definitely as far as the studios and copyright holders are concerned. it's not even our own work. We're replicating the work of others. (Imagine the propmakers forum discussions: "hey, some a-hole on the RPF is replacting the lighter I designed for Constantine and SELLING the thing!") But most of the RPF community makes props not-for-profit. Just ask anyone who's even TRIED make a profit. It's hard. REALLY HARD. I know for a fact that Lucasfilm keeps tabs on stuff of theirs that people are replicating and doesn't care as long as the people in question are not making too much money. They see it as brand building. And it is. But that's not the point.
The main reason people make and share props is the sheer pleasure of sharing our obsessions with others right? Sometimes studios take notice about certain things and those things get quiet (anyone tried to sell an oscar casting lately? Or talk about Robby the Robot?).
Anyone who'd take ***** that other RPFers worked hard on and sell it as their own is
A: outside the community (even if they're a troll, or they're sockpuppeting, or simply lying, they know that they themselves are OUTSIDE, even if we don't.
B: Not even worthy of one's notice. Really. F*** em. They're not going to pay next month's rent selling cans of Dharma Initiative food.
So Please! Keep sharing. Who cares if some idiot wants to waste his time making an extra few bucks by being a lower-life-form. I expect to see my Middle-earth map on ebay someday, if it hasn't happened already. I got my pleasure out of it. I got my props (pun intended), I occupied a dozen cross-country plane flights drawing it.
Not worth my notice if someone is passing it off. I'm going to share the next thing I draw.
I promise.
Well said, Adam! Here, here!
Yeah theft sucks. We should continue to report them to eBay or try to reason with them one on one like we did with radler916 (I also sent him a polite e-mail letting him know, and received the same polite response back that starfighter did).
But we shouldn't deprive ourselves; this community, of the stuff we love. Keep at it everyone! I know I plan to as well.
Very well put Adam. I think in the end that is pretty much the way everyone concludes these types of occurances - the people who share will keep at it. No less, when the instances happen, it still sucks to see it happen at that particular juncture of time.
Consider this too and it has happened to me on occasion. Could the seller just have simply "forgotten" the source ? Its happened to me on a few occasions where I simply forgot the stipulations or who gave me something. Sometimes I accidently give out gifts or something that was given to me at an extreme friendship discount.
Just trying to say that there are other circumstances rather than, "trying to turn a buck" scenarios we've grown accustomed to accusing each other on this forum.
Well said asavage and I would agree, this is a great community I remember trolling the RPF counting down the days until registration was open so I could finally join and post comments and ask questions about peoples work. Its great that someone like me that has little prop making skills can print cool paper props from my favorite movies and show friends. For the creators of the free props please dont let a few dirt bags make you stop sharing your great creations with honest fans like myself.
I don't mind sharing certain files. But are you saying that ALL photoshop files should be shared and NOT sold? I think there are some images that have taken just as long to make as a physical prop did. Should we people, that sell certain files or paper props, just give them all away? I am a little confused by your post Adam. I would love a little clarification.
Thanks,
Brad

Go over to http://www.bttfparts.com/board/index...332a462cbaa5da
They are there for free. The only one that I have reworked is the Tales from Space comic.
