    Jun 16, 2012 - Wearable arc reactors made with 3D printer #1

Been a while since I posted anything but I figured I'd show you guys what I have been working on the last few weeks. I recently got some STARK license plates for my car(NSX) and decided I needed a wearable arc reactor to go with it. I used Google Sketchup to draw them up and ReplicatorG to create the toolpaths/gcode to print them out with a Makerbot. Still need to add the brass details to the MarkI but other than that I am pretty close to being done. My son told me he wanted one like daddy so I made him one too but I cheated a little on his and used the faceplate from an extra MarkV? toy we had laying around.

Forgot to add that through friends, Grant Imahara found out that I was working on an arc and he contacted me since he needed one for a costume party he would be attending. I was able to hook him up with a DIY kit.

Here are a couple pics under shirts. Battery is just a 9V(lasts over 11 hours) and I printed out a little holder for the battery that I attach to my belt.

Even picked up a vintage Black Sabbath t-shirt off ebay to go with the Avengers version. Got one for my son as well so we can be big Stark, little Stark.
