Upcoming Diamond Select Trek Tek?

Interesting...

A night or two ago, I posted a question to the folks at DST on their Youtube page asking if they have more Trek Tek replicas in the pipeline and got an interesting (at least to me) reply. They replied to me that they have some things in development, which does make me wonder... Anyone got any ideas on what they could be developing in the Trek Tek line?

I have no info on anything. But since they recently released the ST3 Kruge type disruptor I'm hoping they'll continue that line with the ST3 phaser, comm and trics.

Robn, I was thinking the same thing; DST might not be 100% accurate on the Trek Tek line but they do a darn good job in making entry-level 'prop' pieces affordable to the collectors out there, and considering the appearance of the ST3 Kruge Disruptor... Perhaps the ST3 Comm and Tric aren't as far away as they seem. :)

If I had a vote. I'd say TNG Tricorder all the way. These are consistently the most expensive props for hobbyists to replicate and require complex electronic components. If DTS could bring us an accurate tric with lights and sounds, I would be a very happy camper.

I hope we get some TNG Tricorders and maybe in the future, some Trek09/Into Darkness replicas (That white Medical Tricorder with the flip-open lid).

Some TNG props would be awesome. I was hoping for more things to get made during the 25th Anniversary.

Cobra Phaser and Tricorder. Maybe a hypo too.

There was a Star Trek Q&A on the Art Asylum blog a couple weeks ago, and one of the questions was whether the next Trek Tek had been settled upon. They wrote, "Yes we have decided and hope to show it at Toy Fair if all goes well and we get a little lucky." I hope they do; every time a convention comes around, I scan the photos for signs of a Star Trek III phaser at their booth. I'm hoping that's what they've got in development.

Have to keep in mind though -- if they're following the pattern of past Trek Tek products, anything they show next month could easily be two years or more until release.

EDIT: forgot to add link to my source. there's a bit more general chit-chat about DST Trek products that some might be interested in.

More TOS would be my vote! Cage laser, Klingon disruptor (with "Taste of Armageddon" variant)....

Considering how popular the Trek Tek line has become among collectors, I would think they'd be fools not to offer the aforementioned TNG items. The Cage Laser Pistol would be great; the Cage communicator would be awesome, but that would have to be a static piece only unfortunately. The Enterprise Phase Pistol/Communicator set would be a good idea for re-release, especially given that the original sets are fetching premium prices on the 'Bay and Amazon.

For me I would like to see...

Enterprise Phase Pistol, Communicator and Tricorder

First Contact Boomerang Phaser and both the Science/Medical tricorders (coupled with the Comm badge from that period from QMx with magnets like their TNG one)

I can see the later being an option more than the former, possibly after TNG models (fingers crossed on all!)

Art Asylum have released a Phase Pistol and Communicator but I would agree and say an Enterprise Hand Scanner would be good and maybe T'Pol and the Doctor's scanners too.

A TNG Mark VII Tricorder both Medical and Science would also be a nice addition there have been lots of TOS props made it's time to move onto other eras in the Star Trek Universe.

Well, not necessarily, as DST has barely scratched the surface with the TOS movie era props. :) In any case, I'd definitely love to see their take on TNG era gear, especially the Tricorders and Phasers.

They've done all the TOS series Tricorders and TOS variant handle phasers, I doubt AA would do anything other than those as they wouldn't sell as well. The movie props need some attention I would agree.

TNG/DS9/VOY era Phasers and Tricorders definitely need some love.

Being a fan of the Klingons, I hope they are working on a TOS Klingon disruptor, ST3 Klingon Tricorder, and if I could be bold here (no pun intended) a few JJ Abrams Klingon items (like the Warbird, Helmet, or even disruptor). To me, these toys are great for cos-play and like we've seen through out this site, great for modifying for display. My biggest complaint about releasing Klingon items to go along with regular Federation/other alien toys is that we constantly get the same old stuff that has been mass produced.
