Trimming tricorder graphics???
I've been working on my mark x/ix tricorder which was turning out great until I tried cutting out the appropriate pieces in the graphics for the lights to come through. I must not have a steady hand because they're all pretty crooked. What methods do you all use to stencil and cut out the pieces? I was using a ruler and exacto knife. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Joe |

Re: Trimming tricorder graphics???
Hey guys, on my Mark X graphics, I actually reversed printed them on a transparency, then had white vinyl cut to mask out the areas that were to be opaque. I then mist the front of them with matte clear coat. That way you don't have to cut anything.
For when I have cut the LED holes out, I printed out the graphic and cut it out leaving some extra around the edges. I taped this to a B&H photo catalog (any thick catalog or cutting board will do) I then use a metal straight edge and a freshly sharpened xacto knife to carefully cut them out. Make double sure you've cut all the way through or you'll rip the corners. |
