A "Toy Story" room for my son, Jack Always!

Re: A "Toy Story" room for my (soon to be born) son!

That is fantastic. It brings back so many memories of that movie. :) My daughter insisted we watch it non stop for about a year when she was 4. I have to admit I saw right there with her. One of my all time Disney faves!!! Room looks like you took it right out of the film!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! As for the Dr. Porkchop ship, I'll head down to UPS to find the perfect-sized cardboard box for it. It shouldn't take more than an hour to crayon a pig-face on it and hang it from the ceiling.

Awwwww, maaaaan...just reading your post is bringing tears to my eyes. I'm imagining me and Jack watching it for the first time together when HE'S 4 (and for a year afterwards :lol). Thank you for the compliment, Dave.

So cool! I don't even have any kids yet and I have already purchased all of the Toy Story toys. Whether I have a girl or boy, both will love the movies and toys. This is such a wonderful idea, you are going to be an awesome dad!

Dude, I bought the Toy Story Collection Woody and Buzz figures for myself when I was 28...and I'm telling you, it almost broke my heart writing "Jack" in Sharpie on the soles of their feet. Just like you, I can't wait to show my kid the "Toy Story" flicks for the first time...here's hoping he loves them too.

So after my third 12-hour shift at the hospital, I punched out and ran to a Kinko's to have the "ABC Round Up" poster that my buddy drew for me printed out. After I put it on the wall, the room finally seemed complete.

I still have two more small projects to finish up and one big one, but as for now, I'm so happy with how the room turned out.

I'll be updating thread when those smaller projects turned out, but until then, thanks for looking and for all of your positive comments.

The room you created is like Toy Story in real life! You did such an amazing job!

I have nothing to add other than this is just plain awesome! I wish I could have a room like this!! :lol

Me too...but I'm already imagining the inevitable: Jack's gonna grow up loving the movies and his room, but around age 10, he's going to totally reject them because he doesn't want all this "baby" stuff around him.

But then, around age 18, he'll come back around and want to pop in those flicks again (perhaps whilst hanging out with a ladyfriend :rolleyes)

Here's a small (but nifty) update I made to the room. After a trip to the Disney Store, I found that they had released a new version of the "Bucket O' Soldiers." I picked one up because their bucket was way more screen accurate than the Toy Story Collection version and replaced my old one. The new bucket ALSO came with some paratroopers. There is a sorta blank area on the wall between the two posters, so I thought I would spice up the space a bit.

Now, the nerd of me had to justify their space at that particular area of the room (especially considering I don't have any toy planes hanging from the ceiling that they could jump from). I figured they crawled through the AC duct and then jumped from vent :)

Wow that room looks amazing. Wish I had that room when I was young.

@nlschutd: Oh, don't worry...that case is gonna get a WHOLE LOT more fun once the kid's old enough to use a grappling hook.

@coondog45: Don't let the fact that you're not a kid anymore stop you from having a room like this! I didn't let it stop me :lol

Wow, just WOW!!!

Jack is one lucky little dude. But with all the attention to details and SA-ness,
shouldn't you re-consider and name the kid Andy!?!?!

The funny thing is that he's been with us for over a month now and Jack has probably only slept in that room twice :lol

Me and his mom can't help it...we want him by our side at all times!

Don't feel bad. my daughter is 3 and she still sleeps with us. on one hand, I'd like to just be alone with the wife, on the other, it's nice having this feeling of being together and protective over the two most important people in my life.
