Tomenosuke Blaster Pro Assembled kit

Wow, the poster design is really awesome! I hope this new Tomenosuke is a pre-build model, I would really love to add one of them to my collection... My japanese is a bit rusty (irony alert), but there's no news about release etc. is there?

Thanks! :)

The release is for this summer, no specific date has been set yet.

One of the major improvements with the new release will be the change from screws that are based on the metric system, to screws from the imperial system. This might seem like a small change, but it affects a lot of areas and parts of the blaster. And will ultimately make this version even more perfect.

Personally, and even if I wasn't involved with this release I think the dedication to details at Tomenosuke is amazing and truly shows their love for this product!

The boxart looks good...but why are the LEDs not red?

They are red, the effect of them being lit alters the colour a bit.

Oh really? For me they are looking complete orange/yellow.
The only area that is shining a little bit reddish are the sides of the lightcircles arond the LED´s.

Well... I made the shapes and mixed the colors. I think I have and idea of what red is, and Tomenosuke is happy about the outcome. And to achieve a light effect on print, one way is to make the base color lighter.

But what do I know, I'm just the illustrator hired for the third time to do the artwork for Tomenosuke...

I'd check the color settings on your display then. They look pretty red over all to me.

Yes, the lit up version IS more orange, or lighter red if you will. As the base color is red I had to make a lighter color for when it is lit. Otherwise it would look odd. Call it an artistic choice, call it wrong or whatever you feel like calling it. But accept that it is up to me and Tomenosuke to make the color choices we feel are the the best.
This is a graphic representation of the Blaster, that the red lights are not true red is an argument you can make for all colors involved here, none are a true representation of what the gun actually looks like. Photos are much better at that.

Please have a look at these photos of red LEDs, in my opinion many of these has a bright orange/yellow center.

As do my illustration, the heavy glare around the LEDs on the illustration is not meant to look like what the weapon did in the movie, but are copied from the light effects on the police 995 spinner as it floats over the Hades landscape.
Same goes for the water, it's not part of the prop but a key element in the movie.

Call it whatever you feel like, but none of this drawing was done without thought.

Your right with the orange on pics...my HCG T-800 Skull has the same problem on pics. But it looks not good in my eyes...its a photomistake.
And please look on your pics of the red lights...your right that on some pics the inside of the light looks more orange...but the light "aura"is reddish. And the color is a lot more saturated. If I would see the package of the Tomenosuke and would had not a hunch about the blaster,I would think:"Orange Lights?Another version of the blaster?Or did they made this wrong lights inside, because the have a licenseproblem?"
But you and Tomenosuke can do and say what you want...for me the lights are looking orange/yellow and not red.But orange or red on the package...I think that will not be a problem with the sales.;)

In my humble opinion and with all due respect, if you know anything about Tomenosuke, you probably wouldn't think that they made a mistake with the lights!!! People who buy props from Tomenosuke, know what they're buying. The statement of perfection that Tomenosuke is putting out there with their blasters is beyond confusion. Which means, again in my humble opinion: there is no problem. My first thought when I saw the poster was: "WOW, powerfull LEDs!!!!! I definetly got to have this one".

In that regard you are correct. Kronen was referring to the box art and I was referring to the blow up (though you can see the base red a bit in the box art, just not from a distance). I thought he was responding again the the blow up and thus my confusion.

It's pretty clear he uses the red on the blow up as a base and then adds various light rings in different tones to give it a lighted effect, which alters the color. The overall "not so true to photo realistic" style of lighting and color on the blaster itself lends to this.

Looking at the overall style of this piece and the way its presented will most likely not affect any sales or confusion for consumers.

Either way, this version and the one before it are great.

Sorry my Hitachi SuperScan Elite Graphic Monitor also shows yellow/orange in the first post, and red in the blow up.

When a product is represented by a art, whether a drawing (painting for example) or a 2-D painting, I know that some artistic license has taken place and will not influence my purchase; I'm a fan and I know that these lights will be red:behave

Many of those tweaks are subtle and barely visible, but that is what makes this an art. I especially like that new tapered trigger. That's one of the things that are extremely hard to get right.

...as i see it, the entire blaster image is stylized. ...One "could" also comment that the "blueing on the gun is not dark enough" or the grips are too transparent or not the correct amber color etc.

All the colors are muted and stylized which lends the flavor and feeling of the movie and the time in my opinion.

The LED lights appear correct for this style image. If they were depicted true red the "simulated lens flair" of the lights would not look right with that style graphic. IMO.

Great job on the box art!
Looking forward to the product.
