Has anyone done any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles props? I've seen several TGRI canisters, anything else? I think it would be cool to build a Scepter from III or Shreder's helmet.
The thread in the costume forum got me thinking that these would be some sweet props!
Saw the first 2 movies today, so Im back in some kind of "turtle fever"...
Nobody gives a TGRI Canisters a try...
I love these movies, so I want to have props from it... Any idea?
My ideas were
- Foot Clan Mask with Bandana
- Turtle Eye Mask
- TGRI Canister (finally, anyone can make this?!?)
- Turtle Painting on farm
- Weapons of the 4 turtles (of course the easiest stuff)
- Shredder helmet/costume
- Turtle costume (of course the hardest)
- Different newspapers from the movies
- Casey Jones Mask/costume
- TGRI Badge/orange suit
But of course, I like to have the TGRI Can... Dont know why, but every thread with turtle topic or TRGI Can is dead after some time...

Awesome! I still want to find one of the TMNT shells that were sold here years ago. Supposedly they were cast off a screen used shell.

the TGRI canisters have been knocked out of the park... i would love to see someone tackle an insanely accurate TMNT 1 shredder helmet or casey jones mask.
i did the TMNT 2 shredder helmet and face mask....i'm most likely gonna mold my shredder face mask after I restart and finish the foot clan masks
would love to get more Turtles props...
And it would be awesome to have a turtles shell... first step to a great costume. Then I have to find someone for the legs and arms, and the head, the rest can I handle, I think....
I would totally love to get some more tmnt props. I just got some in from the second film, hopefully i will be able to post pics later tonight. I would love to have an original nunchuck. I think I would trade any of my tmnt props for that one single nunchuck from the films.
as far as the turtle shell, your best bet would be to get the officially licensesd Mirage turtle costumes that came out during the first movie. I have mine and they are huge.

Well, I know a shop in Austria, they have Nunchucks, what comes very close, same for the Ninja Swords, the problem with the nunchucks is, they are banned in germany, so no chance. No fun to go to jail because of a prop...
I think in the USA its more easier to get stuff like that...
When I was on vacation years ago in claifornia, they had stuff like this on the fleamarket...
hopefully when i go to my storage lot I will be able to get some good pics of it. It's a shame that nunchucks are illegal to buy for you, I actually have a few pairs of them at home that I usually practice with. I was even selling a few of them but no one wanted them. they are fun to use!
yeah, I have a pair of soft nunchucks for training... Seems to be on the borderline to Legality, but wood-nunchucks - no chance...
Same here for Shurikens, Butterfly Knifes and other stuff...
I wonder why Samurai Katanas are still allowed...
That makes prop collecting more difficult than anywhere else...
As an aside- Almost got a job on TMNT III which shot in Astoria. On the way into the interview down on a wharf they took me through the prop room which consisted of the uber cool robotic masks and costumes in various states of assembly.
(Didn't get the job because we couldn't agree on $. I wanted to be paid, they wanted me to intern for free and I'd been there/ done that.)
