Aug 4, 2007 - A Tie helmet deal with Sgtfang gone right! #1

I have just bought a Tie Pilot helmet from Sgtfang. Saw the helmet offered last week in the junkyard. After pondering about it for a few minutes I Pm'ed him with a few questions.

The thing is, the helmet is flawed. It said so in the title. Nothing to be surprised about there. But it didn't show the actual helmet for sale. It had a pic of a random Tie helmet with tha flawed area marked up. And a link to an ebay auction in which he had sold a helmet from the same mold. But without the flaw. The flaw was described briefly in the FS thread as well.

As I only has a vague idea of what should be involved to get the helmet to look better, I Pm'ed Sgtfang with a few qustions regarding this. Before commiting to buy it.

A few minutes later he replied.

I live in Denmark, therefore having bigger item shipped can sometimes be very expensive. But he qouted a shipping price. and said, it was higher tha taht, he would cover the rest. It was and he did.

I paid him through paypal the same day.

After this I would expect one thing to happen:
    1. Sometime between 1 and 8 weeks later a flawed helmet would arrive.

But what I didn't expect was:
2.The helmet came after only 1/2 a week.
    3. It included the hoses that will connect to a chestbox (when I get one ).
    4. It included the two Imperial Cogs that goes on top in silver vinyl, all ready to be applied.
    5. The flaw is much less noticeable than what was described in the sales thread.

The Price of the helmet was greatly reduced due to the flaw. Therfoe I only ecpected to get flwed helmet. Nothing else was described.

This all leads to a GREAT deal. I can only reccomend Sgtfang as great seller of these boards. And will gladly buy from him again. Item be flawed or not.

Below are some pics of the actual helmet i bought. Just to show what little cleanup is nessecary. The first pic is the only angle where the flaw is noticeable.

Once again, THANKS Sarge for a great deal!

Glad it went well for you. I bought a Fett helmet from SGTFang and it is top drawer and the whole transaction was an absolute pleasure how fast and smoothly it went shipping to Scotland was just over a week from payment.

If only other sellers could be half as good as the Sarge the community would be a much better place.

Keep up the great work Sarge.

    Cheers Chris.

I think its nice with a thread like this for a change. Just positve replies regarding a seller. A "feelgood" tread. Thanks to all of you who have chimed in

The Mohawk is sunken it a bit on the right side. The flaw is unnoticeable if you didn't know what to look for. To help me find the flaw, Sarge had marked it with a black pen outline. I think the biggest problem with the helmet is that the flaw is as small as it is. If it just had been a big whole or crack, I would have knownwaht to do about it. Right now I'm just considering a few ways to get it fixed.
