Wow! This is pretty special, I'm temped to have a bash at the little one and the glove after seeing this awesome build. Good luck finishing it, i can't wait to see how it turns out.
Sorry for taking so long to post again.. I usually would like to have some new photos to go along with a post, and had to break from it for a little to take care of some other work.
When it comes to the blueprints, I'd prefer to hold on them for now. They took a long time to figure out, and I'm not finished with the project
Here's some wip photos though
Sculpted one segment to save some of the work, and cast a bunch of them. you can see a bunch of them amongst the pile built up during "casting day" XD
I assembled 7 of them, and they'll need a bit o' cleanup, but here those are. I found some silver teardrops at Michaels, and the reds are a placeholder for the blues that I'll be using. I might go with a clear though. Haven't decided quite yet.
regardless, I'll be gluing the miscolored gems onto a board and making molds of them. The metal bits I like though, and will be using them, since they it perfectly into the teardrop recesses that were carved
I did some eye tests with resins. The first two are using some casting epoxy i got from Michaels without, then with a piece of silver mylar underneath. The bottom two are with smoothcast 325, which turned out pretty durn bubbly, again without, and with mylar. I also had tossed some glossy spray on them to see how it looks with a less glazed feel.
I like the one on the top right, (glazed with silver mylar). The next step on that is to put the pressure pot thats sitting in the garage to use, to get rid of those damned bubbles

I have to agree with you Fevereon. The top right one looks great.
This is moving along pretty quick now..The grip is now connected to the hilt, and the hooks are tacked on for now. Those will be replaced, but the taper that I was concerned about actually doesn't look bad at all :-)
This project suddenly became 10 times more fun, now that the handle is attached! (there's s big nerd grin hidden behind my hands)
Next up is the pommel!
This is looking awsome. I can't wait to see it finished.
want it...want it soo bad. Beautiful work
Wow! Now that is really cool and quite creative. Kick ass job, man!
I'm following so far - but how did you do the blade? Is that sculpted too?
Sculpting would have been a pain for a long straight area like that, so I used two planks of wood, beveled and glued together before shaping the edge. There's a photo of it in the first post![]()
Hey Omi, though I did take a couple personal liberties with this, please don't hesitate to nitpick on it if something's intolerably wonky ^^
If I wanted to be nitpicky I would point out that the symbol on the Eye doen't have the chin spike as I call it. Plus it looks like you don't have the arrow head bit that goes in the middle but I just assumed you hadn't added it yet.
Great job on the build! I love seeing swords built so this is a fun thread to read and follow. Can't wait to see it completed.
wooooooowwwwww... thats freakin niiiiiice..
UNREAL!!!!!!! Fantastic work man.
awesome job on this -- cant wait to see it finished -- great talent and patience!
