Thundercats Sword of Omens build (2-3 update w. images pg.8)

This is sick. Awesome work so far. I cant wait to see the finished piece.

Looking beyond amazing!

This pic shows them rounded off a little. It is ust a matter of opinion but I like this look best as far as teeth shape.

Sword of Omens

Alright, between other work, I've gotten some more progress done on this

here's the buildup of the teethy area.. sintra sandpaper styrene repeat

lots of filler bondo

the bottom photo is showing why I'll be remaking the hooks there. The tapering would not look right with the thick base

Looking fantastic so far. Never realized just how squared off the center portion is. Should look great with the handle sections assembled. I saw the short form blueprint in the first set of pics, are you attempting this one as well?

I'd love to have one of these at this quality of a build. You do know that christmas is soon right....lol

I grew up watching Thundercats, and even now, 20 years later, I still enjoy it.

I'm loving your Sword of Omens. It looks amazing so far, I can't wait to see the end results...I just wish I had the resources to build one of my own

First, let me say that you are doing an excellent job on this, and I've been following with interest since you started the thread.

Might I suggest tapering the thick base instead? A little will go along way. I'd just hate to see you change the guard as it's got a wonderful shape to it.

I agree the cross guards are beautiful but not show accurate.

Thanks OM! Its not too bad to remake, but between redoing one of the other, I'm doing redo the thing for accuracy

I'll be thinning out the general thickness of the base there too, but by just a little though.

As for photos, i don't have any new ones at this time, other than a couple coats of primer and one segment of the handle mostly sculpted. Since there's 7 segments that are identical, i'm sculpting one and casting the segments

This is a great build! Any chance you would share the drawings/templates you made? Would love to try one myself someday.

I second that. I completely understand if you decide not to share, but I would love to have a copy of the full size drawing you have laying under the sword. Looks like it is separated onto five sheets of paper.

They are not 100% accurate but they are a good reference for certain parts. Thanks.
