Theme Park Connection and their hot descriptions

Anyone else notice those auction descriptions from themeparkconnection?

I swear they get more and more bold. They claim everything is either from refurbishment or the ever popular 'test piece.' They're also big on labeling everything as an original. They never mention cast from an original.

They actually do get some decent cast costumes now and again...even the occasional park piece. However, the majority of items like their mansion gate signs, caretaker signs, etc. are just copies like everyone else sells.

Interesting. If you search, caretaker sign, you'll see theirs consistently over 100.00 while others set at 89.00. It's all in those descriptions! Their gate plaques go as high as 1000.00 each!

I don't begrudge them making a buck, but it's their descriptions that are misleading. Everything is marked "original." I often get emails from people showing me items that were sold to them as refurbished props...every single piece I've seen was a copy.

Nothing wrong with copies; just sell them as such! Again, they seem to get some scrap gate railings now and again, but those caretaker signs and mansion plaques are copies.

Anyone else notice this?

I've noticed the same thing. Though to be fair, it sometimes seems like the people in charge of their listings have no clue what the hell they're even talking about. I've seen severely inaccurate descriptions written by people that clearly don't even know exactly what it is they're trying to sell. Often labeled totally wrong, saying it's from one thing when it's from another, etc. It definitely is frustrating that they often get such high prices for their stuff when other listings with the exact same thing are plentiful. I've seen "collectibles" that can be had for $20 with a quick ebay search fetch $200 from TPC. People with more money than sense.
