Do you leave the star like that looking like it was painted on or do you add the sectioned off star later? How do you have the back side set up for carrying it?

To quote everyone before me, beautiful shield! My question is, are you recreating the straps from the movie or doing a different version?

i've wondered for a while why the entire back of the protoype shield looks completely different

apart from the straps and brackets, i cant wuite put my finger on it

it almost looks like it dips inward harshly

It looks the same, though the bracket does not have the many rivets on the edges of the "H" bracket and black straps attach completely different. Also, there are no cut outs at the ends of the "h" bracket where it meets the perimeter ring and the "h" bracket appears to be more symmetrical, but it's probably not, just the camera angles make it seem that way.

Is it a seperate frame that is jb welded onto the inside of the shield? TheCap, what is the purpose of the center hole?

yeah the bracket is a whole seperate part, the center hole is just part of the spinning process, the flat circle of metal is slid onto a rod, and then its spun and "pushed" backwards. its a very awesome process to watch. The center hole will be covered up by the star whenever i can find someone to cut my star for me. in the movie and the pics i posted it looks like the bracket is 3 parts i guess, but it could be some weird lighting cause of the bend in the metal. the final version is one whole solid bracket though.
the center hole is only needed as a center point to measure from for the groove lines when they are machined. Spinnings can be done with out the center hole as well but the grooves would be much more difficult. Bracket is one piece.

Doing the star as a separate piece on top was my idea and design to keep the cost down while achieving a similar look to the film shield.
