    Jul 4, 2012 - TED stuffed bear replicas #1

Setting aside a movie review, I left the theater thinking I wanted a replica of the physical prop of Ted that was used in the movie.

    (EDIT)

So these will be available from Toywiz.com and also through a number of authorized resellers.

I'm hoping the details are movie accurate. I hate change!

Entertainment Earth is making these and they're liscened too I think. They're offering a backpack clip, 8 inch, 16 inch and 24 inch Teds. It says on each one of them that they talk. There is also a R rated talking Ted .
Here's the link: Ted - Action Figures, Toys, Bobble Heads, Collectibles at Entertainment Earth

EDIT: Shipping begins in September of this year.

I pre-ordered the "R" rated version direct from ToyWiz.
There is no information released yet as to what the bear says, but hopefully the vulgar version is worth the extra money.

Seth MacFarlane gave one to John Stewart a couple of days ago on the Daily Show. Don't know if it was one of the licensed versions, but it did talk and Seth mentioned that not all the phrases were kid appropriate.

I have won a Ted prize package so I'm HOPING to get a replica bear. I asked Universal what I won and they clarified by saying "Ted Swag". I don't know what swag means exactly..maybe I just won a couple T Shirts...who knows.

I know they are selling the brear in various scales, all the way down to keychain size.
The PG talking version (full scale) is about sixty bucks and the vulgar one is twenty more.

I am hoping the details on it are accurate - that of course is the RPF in me thinking...

I haven't heard anything on my end. I ordered direct, but I got the "R" rated version, which may be coming after the standard.
Eithet way, I'm hoping to have it at least before the movie hits DVD.

his was a exclusive one made just for the premeire for a select few...same dialgour I think, but the one Jon got is alot closer to the scren used one...just had a little different look to the liscensed one that are avilable everywhere.

Got mine about a week ago. It's the r rated version even though I ordered just a standard (I'm fine with that). Overall very cool, says a whole lot of phrases, and...he's BIG. The darker brown portions of him seem a bit pale but maybe thats just me.

Looks like Toywiz has these listed to ship October.
Why is it that preorders always go later than originally advertised?

Good thing I purchased back in July, they raised the price on the 24" R-Rated version!

Regarding the AI teddy I think as close as you're going to get (without getting a screen used one which were auctioned a few years back now) are the plush talking ones.

Teddy from AI | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

He's mine I bought him online from the US about 5-6 years ago and he says about 180 words/phrases.

Although Teddy Ruxpin is a sore point for Ted, I've got some of those too! Animatronic toys, no matter how basic, are cool! When they do master walking dolls I'll probably have died of old age! A walking Gizmo or AI Teddy would rule!

I ordered him from toywiz. Specifically I ordered this one but I received the R rated version instead a few weeks ago. Maybe they made a mistake? I dunno.

Ted Movie 24 Inch JUMBO "PG" Version Plush Figure with Sound [Actual Life Size in Movie!] Pre-Order ships October

Sorry, I've been busy at home so I didn't get a chance to take pics yet. I will tonight! I'll also prop him up next to Teddy for a size comparison.

It is too bad the battery is not removable. It estimates 3,000 hits and once it is dead... that's it.

I still think he's a bit too pale in the darker brown portions. Volume is also a bit lower than AI Teddy. No articulation and he can't stand without some support. But....I think he's awesome. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics...
