Yeah it seems to be a pretty rare jacket. Not sure if it'll help you any but it's from GAP, it's called the 'Commander Slub Twill Jacket', and the style number is #405575...I've been having a hell of a time finding ANY of Dean's coats, everytime I see one on eBay I get outbid. I found one the other day, went to the bank to put the money in, and by the time I got home someone already bought it lol.
I know, dude. It sucks. I picked up a black M65 field coat the other day because I was sick of not having any of his accurate jackets, haha.
Hey guys, got a few questions I wanna throw out there to see if anyone knows the answers...
1) What are Dean's black boots in season 1? I read somewhere that they might be Cat Akon hiking boots but they don't seem quite right...
2) Does anyone know the brand of Dean's blue work jacket? I'm not sure on the material though the jacket is cut like a jeans jacket and has silver buttons.
3) What styles of Carhartt shirts does Dean wear? Nothing on the current Carhartt site matches up to the shirts he has onscreen, as far as the pockets/flaps/logo placement goes.
3) Has anyone ever tracked down the Esso oil can they us as a salt can throughout the series? I have yet to find out exactly what the can was originally uses for (oil, brake fluid, etc.).
Also, not really a question, but I recently bought Dean's season 1/2 Muela bowie knife, as well as several of his Zippos and I will post pics when I have everything in.
The work jacket he wear he also has one in green, gray, brown and the blue one you mentioned. Over at filmjackets a Supernatural collector ID them as a jacket made by WINDRIVER..in CANADA..he lives there and has yet to see any for sale, saw a guy who wore one once and asked him the brand. The store that carries them is Mark's warehouse..THEY NO LONGER MAKE THEM...plus THEY DONT DO MAIL ORDER......ARGGGGGG...Trust me would love to own a few of them..like that style to begin with
Seen a few Esso cans, but never EXACTLY like theirs.....could also be another company..back in the day..sometimes one company would own a few name brands and the packaging would be very similar..so might want to keep looking.
go to filmjackets on the Cartharts..I own several like Dean's but couldnt tell you the name type etc..but theres a thread on it and has several pics and such. Cant wait to see your bowie...did you track sown a good supplier? Cause those suckers AINT CHEAP....saw one company in Spain...but wasnt sure if there would be import taxes..etc.
Hey mpick67 - could you STOP OWNING ALL OF THE IMPALAS???!!!!11one!!!1exclamation point!!!11!

VERY EXCITED to see this bad boy finished. Mark's being super picky with this project and just keeps fine tunning it trying to get it perfect. That's the little detials I'm talkiing about.![]()
Mechmechanic, that's a pretty bad ass collection you've got there. That M.Julian looks great and the chevy is fooking unreal. Are you getting the smae cragar sawblades as Dean's has?
I need to find Dean's Winchester leather jacket. Nice collections guys
Bummer about the jackets. I want that blue one so badly...
I ended up getting my bowie for $100 on eBay. Just compared it to some screens from season 1 episode "Phantom Traveler" and it looks dead-on. I also compared it to shots from season 2 "No Exit" but that knife is a little different.
I'm the guy on FilmJackets that identified them lol. Yeah they're extremely hard to find, I've NEVER seen one for sale online anywhere unfortunately.
Yeah the jackets are a b*tch to find. I've known the brand for about 3 years and I've never once seen one for sale. Dean also wears a couple Windriver button up shirts that I have too. I think the reason the jackets are so rare is because as far as I know, Marks Work Warehouse is the only place that sells the WindRiver brand, and the jackets were only available for one season. I'm kind of regretting not offering to buy the one of the guy I saw wearing it haha.
As for the boots in Season 1, I'm 98% positive they are Cat boots, not the ones he wore in Dead in the Water, but the all black steel toed ones.
I'm not sure about all of his Carhartt shirts but he wore an unlined version of the Carhartt S96, the Carhartt S111, he wore a Carhartt S113 a lot in the earlier Seasons.
Hope that helps, I have a whole list of all the different jackets and shirts and accesories I've identified lol.

This is some awesome info. Thanks! I am definitely going to order some of the Carhartt shirts (like the S111 in khaki) but I am just a little skeptical on the S96, as the current version doesn't look quite right to me (even if the liner were to be removed).
Do you know which model he has in the lighter color green, with the two flap pockets and brown logo?
Also, I have not been able to identify the Carhartt shirt that he has been wearing in Seasons 6/7, which has only one flapless pocket (on the left side) with the brown Carhartt logo. Any idea what model that one is?
If I somehow miraculously find one or more of the Commander Slub Twill jackets, you will be the first person to know. I am not giving up!
The Esso oil can is the one most used by the boys in all seven seasons. It is seen almost every time they pour salt. The Indian Head can is rarely seen but is always in the trunk. It is most prominent in the Season 1 finale and can actually be seen briefly in Season 6 sitting on a table (I forget which episode).
What Year Is The Supernatural Impala? My Brother Has A White 1970 Impala He Is Trying To Sell. I Wanna Buy It From Him. If The One From Supernatural Is A 1970 I'll Buy It And Paint It Black.
