Supernatural.Bobbys Silver Pentagram Dagger

1st off; great show, and cool knife. From what I can tell, it's based off a "Roman Athame" which is used in pagan ritual. Most Pagans (I have several Pagan friends) will tell you it's a "Pentacle" not a "Pentagram". Especially how it's being used in the show reference, to protect against evil.

I have vidcaps:

I hope this helps.

Thanks. I think its a wicked cool knife myself. From what I can see from the links on the Roman daggers they changed the hilt on it some I think the prop guys may have used the Roman dagger as a pattern and made Bobby knife as a custom.

If the pommel screws off the hilt, it will be an easy alter. I have hilted a Scottish Dirk and rehilted a Viking sword to a "hand and a half Viking sword.. so I know it's not too hard to do.

Some hilt ideas:
The best is to actually use wood. Google for how to(s).

For dagger or knife, one could use craft clay (the baking kind). I baked clay right onto the handle of my Scottish Dirk. Sanded it to "SUPER SMOOTHNESS" and used acrylic paint on the clay hilt. I used two or three heavy washers plus J B Weld in the pommel and the Dirk came out 100% balanced.

Another real easy hilt, is to wrap the "tang with cord "like a tactical knife" and cover it with a leather grip. You'll want to glue the leather and stitch it tight to the hilt as well. This is actually how I did the Viking sword. It doesn't look real great but it's real comfortable grip.

The clay is the easiest; it just takes patience, clay, oven, sandpaper (harsh and smooth grit), and some paint.

True...but from the pics of the Roman dagger I think it's a rat tail tang and Bobby dagger looks like a hidden/full tang.A hidden/full tang would allow the type of hilt on the dagger in the pics. Also the shape of the blade a little different as it has a kind of wasp waist near the cross guard..

If you are interested in displaying this knife in an art exhibit in Philadelphia, please let me know. It's a prop replica exhibit highlighting props from Supernatural. If you'd like to know more details - message me! THX :$
