Jul 8, 2012 - Star Wars ANH alt DL-44 "Greedo Killer" scope mount #1

Hello, I am currently working on a custom DL-44 for a costume with the Mandalorian Mercs, but I'm having an issue with the scope mount bracket. I was going to base my DL-44 heavily off of the Greedo Killer (I liked the M3 flash hider and the front grill on it) I've been planning to make a scope bracket myself, but I don't have a good template to work with.

I've seen a partially covered template in the background of another GK build thread that had some text in the corner saying "Greedo Killer scope bracket" and the name "Darth Lars" yet my attempts to find a printable template online have been futile. I attempted to contact the person who started the thread and haven't heard back yet. I was wondering if these templates were still available anywhere online or if there were other printable templates anywhere.

I don't want to ask Corellian Exports for the template he uses because, if I recall correctly, he is currently doing a run of those scope mounts. I would just buy a scope bracket from him, but they're a little pricy for me at this point in time.

    Thanks,
    Arvex

On a side note: I've noticed several different DL-44's in the Star Wars movies. I know Han uses a modified DL-44, so which version is considered to be the standard, out of the box, model?

I'm familiar with it in that I've heard of it before and know roughly what it is... I haven't actually used it before today.

This will work well enough since I don't have to make it movie accurate. It's supposed to be a modified DL-44, after all.

Though, I might try to make a movie accurate GK in the future if I can find an M3 flash hider and an appropriate (or similar enough) scope.

Check out Lichtbringer's excellent thread here. I used the drawings in his thread to make my bracket. The measurements are in millimeters.

That's the thread I was looking at, actually. I was just hoping to get the raw file of templates so I could print and trace them directly onto the metal with a scale reference. I tried sending him a message and I haven't gotten a reply yet.

The Pepakura file worked fine, I got what I needed and was able to make the modifications with a pen. Thanks, Bevbor.

I havn΄t been here for some weeks, sorry.

I checked my files, and up to now i wasn΄t able to find the plan. I΄ve got it from another member a long time ago, but i can΄t remember who he was, sorry.

From the metal working point of view - you better use the measurement for fabricating the parts directly, that΄s easier than your planned tracing. Easiest way is using a blue sharpie/felt pen to "paint" the metal part, then using a ruler and a needle to scribe the outline in the paint. Much more thin and accurate lines than the big printed ones.

Let me know if i can help.
